The Commordores, The Ohio Players, Chicago. And the Rock and roll hall of fame. Let me understand me something here, the Sex Pistol and Blondie are in but not these bands? I just don't get it, I mean I like some of Blondie material "Heart of glass" "Call Me" "The tide is high" etc... But the Sex Pistol is their body of work better then the bands I mention? Somebody educate me please because I just don't get this year induction.

Yeah I have tried this argument many times before. Bands like Chicago, Commodores, Ohio Players, also IMO The Moody Blues, Hall and Oates and a list of others deserve to be in there, not to mention John Mellencamp who 3 years straight didnt get enough votes. The argument from the Hall is that the artist Must be Influential and Not just "Hitmakers". Well i guess this is why bands like the Sex Pistols, BLondie and the Ramones are for their influence which is fine, but why is ZZ top in there, why is Del Shannon in there, the Dixie Cups for gods sake are in there too. What did ZZ top influence...Beards, Hot Girls in Videos, shoot, Kiss, Motley Crue and BonJovi have hot girls in there videos too and long before ZZ top did. But if it is influence then why arent the Commodores in or the Ohio Players, and Chicago?? Its a Joke when i think that CHICAGO is not in the Hall of Fame! The same can be said of Hall and Oates, easily the Best Duo of all time, has not even been on the ballot. It will be interesting in the next year or so when bands like INXS, REM, BonJovi, Duran are all for a nomination.... ZZ Top definitely earned their spot with their blues and boogie style straight from Austin! Listen to their early classics from the early 1970's like LaGrange, Tush and albums like Deguello and Tejas, long before MTV was even born. Plus, when Bon Jovi first started out,it was ZZ Top who took them in as their opening act! To this day, Jon thanks them for not only influencing his band, but for also giving them a chance when no one else did! To add to that! Jimi Hendrix in 1969, after hearing their lead guitarist Billy Gibbons, when he played in a band called Moving Sidewalks, went on the Tonight Show w/ Johnny Carson and mentioned about Mr. Gibbons as one of the BADDEST guitar cats he's ever heard! JIMI HENDRIX! He even had Gibbons and his band open for him on several dates!! As far as the other bands are concerned, based on the 25-year-from-first-record rule, Metallica, Motley Crue, REM, and Kurtis Blow would technically be eligible! Bon Jovi's first record was in 1984. I know, I have the record! Duran Duran'. first was 1982. Other than that, I must agree! The Commodores not in?!! A crime! Hey, I'm pissed about Van Halen not even being mentioned!!
