THE IMPRESSIONS appreciation thread I've always been a fan of Jerry Butler and ESPECIALLY a fan of Curtis Mayfield but Im just now getting into the Impressions music. A lot of it, I've heard before like "People Get Ready", "We're a Winner", "Choice Of Colors"...what do you think of the Impressions. What is your fav album by them? | |

i don't own any albums, but i'm familiar with the "iceman" and i love curtis mayfield.
"sad sad boy" "talkin 'bout my baby" i'm not sure if jerry butler did this one by himself -"strawberries" and thats the extent of it. i'm more a fan of stuff curtis mayfield made during the 70s including all of the soundtracks to superfly, sparkle, and claudine. | |

I have all of their albums... And got them on cd too... 
Curtis Mayfield was a genius.. 'Gypsy Woman' is my favorite.... Jerry Butler is so cool... You should hear my imitation of him...

You mean 'Move On Up'... I was thinking, they didn't recorded The Jefferson's theme song..
