Gladys Knight

I dealt in rare vinyl on Ebay for a few years. Hip-hop, funk, disco, r&b 12"s mostly.

Found this record on Buddah from 1977 by Gladys Knight called "Love is Always On Your Mind" it's about 10 minutes long. One of the sickest funkiest records that I have ever heard. Completely epitomizes what is so great about non-formulaic late 70s disco-funk-r&b. Completely floored me, I live to find records like this. Probably not many folks know this cut it was not a big hit, but goddamn! You gotta have the looooong version. It goes off into all manner of instrumental tangents, long stretches of funky call and response hollering...This shit is so raw it ain't funny. You all can get excited about 3121 if ya want to, but they stopped making real soul music like this a long time ago.
