LL Cool J & J.Lo at it agin... "Cant Control Myself" I like this song. It is uptemop. Sort of in the vein of "My Humps"
with part of the chorus ending in zugh zugh zuh zhuh zhuh.. zu zu zuh zuh zhuh zhuh. Has anyone heard this jam? Straight Jacket Funk Affair

Pretty cool song. Love the Bambataa sample.
But it's shame that this is LL's song, yet it's all about J. Lo in the video. I just thought that was hilarious. Ooh, little darlin' if you're

I was presently surprised to see this on TV the yesterday.
Yes, they both look good together and LL is the perfect partner to get J.Lo back in the public embrace again. She was dancin' her ass off. Like the look of the video. It did NOT remind me of My Humps. (what an insult that would be). But it did remind me of the 80s and something LL might have done in the 80s. It was way better than Humps. Kewl song.

i'm not an LL fan but i did see the vid and thought the song was decent.
i don't know why but it seems to me that his first singles are always songs that would be played in the club rather than in my car...but i think that's always how he's been... J-Lo was doing J-Lo, just looking pretty song is aight though, i like it better than that awful "headsprung" song he had out a few years back...ehhh I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

LL's delivery at the beginning is very "Funky Cold Medina."
It's decent. I'll most likely dance like a fool to this when I'm out anyway. (Has anyone else noticed how LL has consistently been making hit songs since 1987?)

J.Lo messes up the song for me. He could've used another spanish chick. Give someone else some exposure. Goodness. One of Dansa's org hornies

but then again so was mariah 2 years ago Yeah, but Mariah has talent to fall back on.... then again I guess J.Lo has her own kind of "talent" to fall back on too.

I agree...It's a less kitschy and more dancable verison of something the Black Eyed Peas would do. I like it! [Edited 2/19/06 1:39am]

I understand that Fergue of the Blk Eyed Peas was the original vocalist slated for that song and word has it - that she turned it down or changed her mind. I still don't know what went down with that? But J-Lo was their second choice, just FYI.
I think Gwen Stefini (with ther current pop status) would have been an upgrade over J-Lo. And I maybe in the minority but I think Headsprung was a little more creative than Control Myself. I mean, CM is cool but it sounds so simplistic, like it was recorded in one day.

"Control Myself" isn't very original, but it's OK.

:shurg: So I'm a little late.
(I only just saw the video for the first time now) Man it would be so easy for me to love this song if it was just LL Cool J doing his best "Goin Back To Cali"/"I'm That Type Of Guy" style of rhymin and that hot Afrika Bambaataa sample. But honestly Jennifer's part messes it up for me.. I don't like that melody, doesn't matter if someone else woulda sung the same thing I wouldna liked it. And Jermaine Dupri needs to hush.

Same thing I thought when I heard it. This song is more akin to Missy feat. Ciara "Outta Control", in just about every way possible.
