Kayne still crying over losing album of the year Well he's at it again. The worlds biggest ego, (even more than usher) is complaining yet again. About a month after his Grammy loss for ALbum of the year, Kanye is siting that "Black" votes were split between him and Mariah and thats why U2 won. Although Kanye is Not saying he had "the Best Album" he is saying his was the Album of the Year. Now whatever U may think about this latest speech from Kanye, i am kind of offended by his use of the "Black" vote. So if we take Kanye's quote what if Mariah wasnt nominated and it was just Kanye as the only "black" album, what would he be saying if he still lost to U2. I think what Kanye is forgetting is that the grammies arent a popularity contest, i mean Steely Dan won a few years ago for album of the year, so it has nothing to do with sales or Hype or how many people you can cram on stage during your performance. I am surprised Kanye isnt bitching about Mariah winning all those RB awards, instead of a "Black" artist since that was the whole talk when she used to win RB awards, its funny how she is now accepted. This comment of Kayne's reminds me of last years comment from Usher about losing to Prince "on the air". He felt it was to embarass him and that he was true RB winner. He's such an asshole. I don't understand why anyone likes this guy. He won't even be around 5 years from now, so he better cry the blues now cause no one will give a shit about him in the future.

I have to say this..... This skinny muthaf&cker with boring voice. Is so damn annoying.
I dislike this guy so much. It's not cause he is brash or outspoken its because he is so egotistical. Even if you think it you don't have to say it. Does his beats (samples) sound good. Yes Did he write them no.... I am sorry if this offends by IMO if you don't write your own music you are not a musician. I am told his lyrics are up there with several other well respected artists such as NAS, Chuck D and others. I just don't see it. Performance wise he puts on a good show on all the award shows, but some people treat him like the second coming. Its not my bag. and his public persona really rubs me the wrong way. Music is the best...

who the hell cares? why should he care? if he's so interested in awards and ribbons and medals and stuff, he should become an athlete.

Everyone knew his was the best. Even Bono walked over to him right before accepting the award and was like "Hey man, next year you will win."...but hopefullly Kanye is not surprised that a stupid award show didn't recognize the obvious. U2 had a great one but Kanye's was groundbreaking.

U2 is the Grammys' Meryl Streep. That wasn't the best album of the year; hell, it wasn't one of U2's best either.

At the end of the day, awards don't mean a thing. Sure it's nice to get one of course the ole 'I'm just happy to be nominated' line has it's place but he needs to get over it already. He's too caught up. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

I've said it before and I'll say it again - I bet Kanye West has a mirror on the ceiling in his bedroom. And I bet he uses a different room for sex. "She made me glad to be a man"

I'm sorry, I'm still stuck on the comment about Usher being mad because he lost an award to Prince???? Please say it isn't so!
I swear, these young whippersnappers just crack me up, LOLOLOL !!!!!

[Edited 3/17/06 8:37am] U2 and Mariahs were better then Kanye's cd. His is great no doubt but theres were a lot better and deserved it more than his shit did.

you know what? he's rich and famous and is considered an a-list pop artist right now. i have a hard time feeling bad for him. let him stick in the biz as long as U2 and we'll talk about if he's getting cheated out of anything.

long time U2 fan here.....it is a great album from them....but the Grammy nod seemed like more of a tribute or a 'thanks for continuing to make good music' award.....but Kanye is new and fresh and exciting.....can't really say that about U2....and the fact that they are both working together right now says a lot about each artist

IMHO - They're just riding each others coat tails. I love U2, but they're only using Kanye because he's popular and hip right now. And on the other side, Kanye is using U2 to get more fans worldwide.

Okay, now don't get me wrong, I enjoy Kanye West's music for what it is, but what exactly do you see as groundbreaking? I just see it as decent, mainstream rap.

I don't buy that. U2 is no need of hipness and the kiddies who like Kanye don't really listen to U2. U2 like to challenge their audience with opening acts you might not expect to play with them. Or didn't you know that Public Enemy, Rage, and Kanye have opened for them? If an artist opens for U2, it means at least one person in the band actually likes them.

.....fuck kanye west. when he does his own CD where he arranges, produces, writes, and plays every instrument on it AND wins a grammy for it, then i'll take notice. but until then.....fuck kanye west.
