I only have 2 or 3 albums but I really like her. I think she has one of purest voices. One of my favorite songs by her is Skylark but I still have to get out Hymns of the 49th Parallel.

"Hymns" is beautiful. Love Is Everything, Hallelujah, and Simple are all extraordinary. I would highly reccomend it!

I absolutely looove kd lang.

Ingenue and the Even Cowgirls Get the Blues soundtrack are wonderful.

I got Invincible Summer when that came out, but couldn't get into it.

This thread makes me realize I've rather forgetten about kd lang for quite some time. I need to get out those older albums again and rediscover them/her. Still need to get Hymns... though.

Thanks for starting this thread, brownsugar. smile

i am so crazy about her, especially after seeing here live: she has an amazing control over her voice: musically and emotionally. she knows how to deal with an audience too.

i saw her in Utrecht, The Netherlands, performance wise: one of the best concerts i saw, audience wise: worst. there were many butch dutch older lesbians that were yelling rude questions to her. during the encore they started taking pictures of themselves in front of the stage with k.d. lang in the background.
yes SIR!

It's so funny because my mom at first thought she was a man with a really amazing voice and when she found out she was a dyke, her religious nature kicked in and threw up all kinds of moral red flags. But I remember her telling me how she didn't care she was a lesbo, she loved her voice. I was like "rockon mom!" headbang

her performance of "What A Wonderful World" during the Kennedy Center Honors should be considered a national treasure.

and yes, her version of My Last Cigarete (from Drag) blows me away...Wendy does base on the song Drag. And I think Lisa plays keys on one of her songs..either on this album or another. Wendy is all over Invincible Summer.

another fav from Drag is My Old Addiction...just dont listen to it if your depressed.
