That is amazing!! I bet it has something to do with Ace's performance of "Butterflies" on American Idol. I'm glad Invincible is getting some recognition. It is a great album. Break of Dawn, You Rock My World, Butterflies and Whatever Happens are classics. I also enjoy Heaven Can Wait, Don't Walk Away, Cry and The Lost Children. It's not a bad album, in fact, it's better than most of the shitty pop albums released this decade. There's no decent album in stores at the moment to buy, so I guess everyone is finally going back and buying Invincible because at the time (2001) it wasn't "cool" to buy an MJ album.

MJ fans LIVE for numbers & sales.
Sales first. Music second. Thats the order of importance.
Its all they have.
Nothing thrills them more then looking at the charts. Any chart.
Notice they don't really mention more than once that its Amazon.com's chart.

Totally untrue in my case. Although it does piss me off when the media blatantly lie about sales of certain albums just to make him look bad.

Co-Sign cool
The media makes it like Michael's big album was "Dangerous" back in 1991. However, the truth is "HIStory" (1995) and "Invincible" (2001) both charted Number 1 debuts, and "HIStory" remained there for awhile. I hate it when the media leaves those facts out, so I will SCREAM about them, because THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT US (fans) so I will make the sales known!!!!! fit

If over means an artist has the greatest album in history, then I bet lots of artists would love to be, "over." biggrin

love me some Mike, but falling for that marketing crap is just ridiculous. some of his fans really are bonkers.

Having said that some of Prince's wackjob fans will no doubt be buying multiple copies of 3121 in the vain hope of getting one of those tickets.

There's a difference between having the greatest album and the highest selling album in history.

Dude! The album is 5 years old!! Let's see how that compares to Michael Jackson's peers...

Close to a month after Invincible was released, Prince released The Rainbow Children, currently #22,908 on Amazon's sales chart. His last album distributed by a major label was Musicology, which is currently #6,626 on Amazon and it was only released 2 years ago. Invincible is miles ahead of both album.

A year before Invincible, Madonna released Music which is currenty #9,896 on Amazon. In 2003, 2 years after Invincible, she released American Life which is currently #8,496 on Amazon. Invincible is miles ahead of both album.

In the same year as Invincible, his sister Janet released "All For You" with is currently #38,336 on Amazon. Tens of thousands of places behind Invincible.

In the same year as Invincible, Mariah Carey released Glitter which is #35,949 on Amazon. A year after Invincible, she released Charmbraclet which is #31,544 on Amazon. Invincible is tens of thousands of places ahead of these albums.

If anyone is interested, this is Michael's placings on Amazon for all his albums...

Off The Wall [1990 re-issue] - #25,788
Thriller [1990 re-issue] - #10,758
Bad [1990 re-issue] - #14,163
Dangerous [Original] - #11,317

The difference is all those artists mentioned are still making music and having big success in their own rights. MJ's success is always based on past efforts, and really no one cares.

And it's Amazon, a friggen internet store. You can sell 80 copies of a cd and make it on that chart. Who cares?

Invincible was a great album and a big success (#1 in 13 countries). Since then, what time has he had to release music? There was a lot of talk about a new MJ album in 2003, but guess what, some dumb-ass KKK old fat shit said Michael molested a boy. This shit went on for nearly 2 years until June 13 2005. Since then, Michael has been resting and possibly working on new music. He will have a new album out shortly. Just because he hasn't released anything since 2001 doesn't mean he isn't making music. He's probably recorded hundreds of songs since Invincible.

is Invicible the worst album of the last 15 years by a major artist?

I think a strong argument could be made that it is. IF you still consider freak show a "major artist."

Invincible was a great album, but I'm still trying to figure out how can this album be the most expensive album ever in music history. The production on some of the cuts like What Ever Happens, 2000 Watts, Privacy, Threatened is over the top. Another thing that killed me was the length of the CD. It clocked over almost 80 minutes. I though that five cuts should've been omitted. I'm shocked that this is now selling impressively good on the internet.
