Fantatsic! it may be too early too say but based on this album, they could be the next Beatles! seriously... the album is genious. listen to "Mardy Bum" "Scummy" and "A Certain Romance"

I havent got around to hearing the album, but I absotively LOVE I Bet That You Look Good On The Dancefloor I dismissed it at first mainly because everyone everywhere was going so nuts over it, and girls in mini skirts dancing to rock music they just dont understand is never cool... but then I paid attention and that intro chills. wow. I havent heard anyone make a guitar make that noise for too long!

So is there more good guitar work on the album? Should I get it?

GREAT fucking album. I loaned it to my boss's kid and he won't give it back. It's THAT good!

I will also add that while I like the album, I hate its title.

This band has been overhyped, but they generated their UK fan base pre-hype. I think a lot of the hype is an extreme overreaction by a UK music press that is astonished that a band can get popular in England without their help. It's almost as if they are setting them up for failure in order to punish the band for going it alone.

These guys are ultimately making waves because they write solid songs, no matter where NME ranks them in Top 100 lists.

While the songwriting skills are top notch, the bands musicianship leaves a lot to be desired, IMO. They are just good enough. Wisely, however, they always play within their abilities and what they do play is exciting. They will get better, in any case. They have only been playing for 4 or 5 years. The music is there and that's what really matters.
