The deal is the album was #7000 something ..then Ace on American Idol sang Butterfies...a few hundrend people out of 30 million viewers bought Invinceable on Amazon causing the jump ...
the album with be back down where it started by the end of next week. Same thing happened to George Michael when he sang Father Figure. The digital sales for the song were #40 on the Itunes Top 100 for a few days.

If this is what its come to..it safe to say..its over. Dude! The album is 5 years old!! Let's see how that compares to Michael Jackson's peers... Close to a month after Invincible was released, Prince released The Rainbow Children, currently #22,908 on Amazon's sales chart. His last album distributed by a major label was Musicology, which is currently #6,626 on Amazon and it was only released 2 years ago. Invincible is miles ahead of both album. A year before Invincible, Madonna released Music which is currenty #9,896 on Amazon. In 2003, 2 years after Invincible, she released American Life which is currently #8,496 on Amazon. Invincible is miles ahead of both album. In the same year as Invincible, his sister Janet released "All For You" with is currently #38,336 on Amazon. Tens of thousands of places behind Invincible. In the same year as Invincible, Mariah Carey released Glitter which is #35,949 on Amazon. A year after Invincible, she released Charmbraclet which is #31,544 on Amazon. Invincible is tens of thousands of places ahead of these albums. If anyone is interested, this is Michael's placings on Amazon for all his albums... Off The Wall [1990 re-issue] - #25,788 Thriller [1990 re-issue] - #10,758 Bad [1990 re-issue] - #14,163 Dangerous [Original] - #11,317 HIStory Book I - #5,930 Blood on the Dance Floor - #51,555 Off The Wall [Special Edition] - #2,690 Thriller [Special Edition] - #833 Bad [Special Edition] - #22,794 Dangerous [Remastered] - #22,813 Invincible - #1,503 Greatest Hits History Vol. I - #8,878 Number Ones - #4,591 The Ultimate Collection - #4,984 Essential Michael Jackson - #2,533 [Edited 3/10/06 17:56pm] Even for Amazon, those stats are pretty impressive. I admit it. a psychotic is someone who just figured out what's going on

JasonStar said: Ellie said: Totally untrue in my case. Although it does piss me off when the media blatantly lie about sales of certain albums just to make him look bad. Co-Sign The media makes it like Michael's big album was "Dangerous" back in 1991. However, the truth is "HIStory" (1995) and "Invincible" (2001) both charted Number 1 debuts, and "HIStory" remained there for awhile. I hate it when the media leaves those facts out, so I will SCREAM about them, because THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT US (fans) so I will make the sales known!!!!! Not really that because both sold less than Dangerous. The E! True Hollywood Story said that Scream failed to make the Top 10 when at the time it debuted at #5 and was the highest debut ever in Billboard Hot 100. They always say that Invincible has sold 2m copies while quoting worldwide figures for other albums, when it has sold about 2.5m in the USA only. Then when they want to take Thriller's record away from him they start referring to The Eagles' USA certifications as if it represents the world, when in fact The Eagles GH isn't even in the Top 5 worldwide. Not sure if it's even Top 10.# Then again, you also get stupid MJ fans quoting ridiculously inflated figures they've pulled out of their arses too for some reason [Edited 3/12/06 4:44am]

The official best selling artists in the world ever list came out earlier this year and mj was no3 selling 400million, the beatles were no2 selling 450million and elvis was at 500million. Fact is, the 400million figure for mj was only post 1979 since Motown sales figures could not be determined, however, Motown have stated in the past that J5 sold 100million, this also does not cover mj's early solo albums like music and me and got to be there, ben and forever, michael, together those albums sold in excess of 10million. This puts MJ's figure at a cumulative 510million.
This does not take into consideration the fact that Michael is still selling shit loads of records every week and is outselling both elvis and the beatles put together week on week. He is also still alive and still recording and his katrina single could sell millions of copies. Add on to this the fact that the "we are the world" project which generated like 26million sales is not included in the total michael figures, i think its safe to say that Michael is not "over" not "pathetic" and that mj fans are not trying to justify his success to people who quite simply will not accept the facts! The facts as stated above speak for themselves!

Michael Jackson is not 3rd best selling. He's lower than that. He's definately in the top 10 worldwide, but not #3. Elvis, The Beatles, Madonna, Nana Mouskouri have all outsold him. He's only sold 200 million worldwide, including Motown. [Edited 3/13/06 3:27am]
