Saint Etienne - Tales From Turnpike House Sing-Sing - Sing-Sing And I Morningwood - Morningwood All of which were released in the U.S. this year, but I already had as either imports or promos since last year. Ah, that Morningwood album is awesome. Glad I'm not the only one on the Org who appreciates it. "New York Girls," "Everybody Rules," "Ride The Lights," and "nth Degree" are fabulous.

J Dilla - Donuts
I was praising this the day it came out (February 7), before Dilla even left us (February 10). It's a good album, not even on some "rest in peace, this is his swan song" shit. I was playing it non-stop and he became my idol in mere days. Dropping this month: DJ Revolution - Class of '86 Ghostface - Fishscale Madlib - Beat Konducta Vol. 1-2 Prince - 3121

I trust your judgement, You've yet to lead me astray Thanks! If you're going to buy a Sing-Sing album then get their debut album, 'The Joy Of Sing-Sing' first. From what I've read, more people are in agreement that that one is great and I must admit also it is a little better. If that one blows your mind then get the new one too.

I picked up the advance promo last year after seeing Morningwood open for The Raveonettes here in NY. It's rare that an opening act impresses me so much that I'm converted into a fan.

Well I was trying to figure out if i had even bought an album this year.
Well the only one i can think of is Live at the Isle of Fehmarn-Jimi Hendrix technically it came out in 2005, but they messed up the first pressing and i had to wait for the second so i didn't get it till 2006. I guess 3121 will be my first album actually released this year. Sad considering how many cds I use to buy

Fuck the reviews, the Sing-Sing album is fantastic. Lisa O'Neil should win a Grammy for Best Female Vocal. I don't know where her new voice came from - it wasn't there on the first record. But thank God we have it now.

I am a HUGE fan [Edited 3/10/06 15:39pm] I was a big fan of Lush. I met Miki once at Grand Central Station in Manhattan. I saw her red hair from afar and thought that could only be one person. I introduced myself to her when she stopped at a newsstand. I also got the entire band to autograph two colored 7" singles I had at an in-store signing before the drummer committed suicide.

A friend snapped this pic of me with them. I'm still bummed that she was all "arty" and did it with a red filter cos the pic is kinda crappy. But you get the idea ps, that's me on the left with all the black hair

Even though your friend got all arty with the pic I blew off seeing them here at Milwaukee's Summerfest in '96, thinking, they'll be back next year, I'll see 'em then. Of course that same year the drummer killed himself and it was all over... It's all very sad.

The Knife :: Silent Shout I still want to check out The Knife. How is it? It's a great, great disc. It grooves A LOT. This album's more darker than "Deep Cuts," though, so you can't really dance as hard to it as you would with their previous record. But you can tell that they are getting more deep into electronics (using new technology) and creating atmosphere. This album sounds amazing when you listen to it with all the lights off in your house with just the stereo display glowing. That's how you capture the magic. It's one of the best albums to come out of 2006, so far. Pick it up!

Ladytron are so electro although their last album was rockier than usual. I'll have to give it another listen.
