Your friendly funkateer reporting to you from the South. George Clinton stopped by KISS 104.1 here in Atlanta where Larry Blackmon(leader of that STANK FUNK group Cameo) is the DJ from 3pm to 7pm Monday thru Friday. During the interview segment,a member from the radio station (KISS 104.1) asked Larry and George Clinton about a possible hook-up between the two supergroups, as in a possible album with the two groups. Larry said that "as a matter of fact me and my crew and George and his crew are going to the studio tonight to work on some things".

Now I don't know whether this will result in an album. But the thought of these two master FUNK group hooking up makes me shiver with excitiement. Cameo and Parliament were my favorite two groups during the 70's and 80's. Just bringing that raw- nasty- in- yo- face- stank- FUNK!!! Hope springs eternal as to whether a collaboration between these two groups will materialize.

Larry shared a story about a P-FUNK concert he went to back in the 70's at Mile Hile Stadium (home of the Denver Broncos)in which he said a young woman came up on stage and took off all of her clothes and took three cigarettes and out them in a "rather suggestive place"and took "three puffs". Then Larry said "Yeah Brother George make P-FUNK fans do young strange things"

Sounds cool! There is an excellent 2-CD Cameo compilation that y'all must check out.Not only does it contain the usual suspects ("Word Up","Shake Your Pants","Keep It Hot",etc),but it also contains their rare 1983 hit "Style".

this should Be Something Else.P-Funk has there Own Bag.Cameo I give Much Props to for Hanging in there in the 80's&early 90's when Funk wasn't wanted&Rap-Hip-Hop took Over they were one of the Very Few Funk Acts to Hang in there&still have a Voice&Pressence.Clinton&P-Funk Never Went away it just took them oh like 20 Years thanks to the Rappers Sampling there Stuff to Finally Get there long overdue&they still haven't gotten there just due IMHO.
