Diana Ross: Love Hangover Ah
If there's a cure for this I don't want it Don't want it If there's a remedy I'll run from it From it Think about it all the time Never let it out of my mind 'Cause I love you I've got the sweetest hangover I don't wanna get over Sweetest hangover Yeah, I don't wanna get over I don't wanna get I don't wanna get...over Ooh, I don't need no cure I don't need no cure I don't need no cure Sweet lovin' Sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet love Sweet, sweet love Sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet love Don't call a doctor Don't call her momma Don't call her preacher No, I don't need it I don't want it Sweet love, I love you Sweet love, need love If there's a cure for this I don't want it I don't want it no If there's a cure for this I don't need it Sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet love Sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet love Sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet love Sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet love I was reading something today about the session of this classic joint. I read that Diana and the producer were passing out alcoholic drinks to everyone in studio and somehow Diana felt comfortable with the song and the musicians were energized. It's kind of strange how Ross & Co. recorded this song in the studio, but it is a classic funk jam. Any reflections on the song? Check me out and add me on:

MASTERPIECE MASTERPIECE MASTERPIECE MASTERPIECE I love the sonic shift halfway through the track when the rhythm gets frentic and busy-paced! This song is glamourous, flamboyant and sparkling. One of my favorite songs ever recorded. It's been sampled and covered so many times by so many artists in so many genres.

That is the motherfreakin song right there! Get the Diana Deluxe Edition and you get the 10 min version of the song. Pure heaven. They don't make songs like this no more. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I've been meaning to pick up that set for a while. I love the fact that Nile Rodgers commandeered the grooves on this record.

I've been meaning to pick up that set for a while. I love the fact that Nile Rodgers commandeered the grooves on this record. Nile was in a serious groove with that album. It's become one of my absolute favorites. You'll love the Chic mixes of all the songs from Diana. Great stuff! I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

If I was alive or way older during that time, I would have lived in the clubs with stuff like that. [Edited 3/4/06 17:52pm] I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I strongly recommend checking out their "Live At The Budokan"DVD or album. They perform a lot of these goodies live. And it's every bit as marvelous.

David Bowie's "Let's Dance" Duran Duran's "The Reflex" & "Wild Boys" & MOSTLY all of the "Notorious" album (including the famous title track) The B-52's Cosmic Thing album INXS' "Original Sin" Debbie Harry (of Blondie) on her solo album Koo Koo Plus, Kim Carnes, Mick Jagger, lots of rock acts, etc. etc.

Freakin love this song! Used to have a vinyl LP (dating myself here) that had hit songs by different artists on it, and "Love Hangover" was one of them. It's one of those songs that you just never get tired of. This song rocks my socks. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

A funny story about the recording session...the producers were trying to capture a "disco feel",so they made the recording studio look like a disco...flashing lights and all.Diana felt comfortable, but at one point, she laughed at the craziness of it all,and that laugh was kept on the recording. It's right before she sings "if there's a cure for this...I don't want it....I don't want it no".

Great song. It does "borrow" quite heavily from Donna's "Love To Love You, Baby". It goes so far to actually include her title in the song sung by the backup vocalists. It also employs damn near the same bassline from Thelma's "Don't Leave Me This Way". Oh well, what the hell. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

Yep, because most of the musicians who played on Thelma's Don't Leave Me song are playing on Diana's record! Check me out and add me on:
