I think Jack Johnson is great. Kind of like the new Jimmy Buffett, but with an entirely different sound. His music just makes you feel like you are sitting on the beach drinking a boat drink. I actually have all of his cd's including the soundtracks for his various movies. I saw him open for Ben Harper and have been a huge fan ever since. Have you heard the new Curious George Soundtrack? Good stuff.

TBH I haven't really heard anything from the soundtrack. Absolutely loving his 3 albums at the moment though.

What are you favourite songs?

At the moment, mine have gotta be Bubble Toes, Flake, Staple It Together, Breakdown, Crying Shame, Banana Pancakes etc! Too many brilliant ones!

I would have to say;

Bubble Toes
Mudfootball
Flake
Rodeo Clowns (each version)

OK I'll bite

He is so fucking banal. I'm offended by his blah-ness. Same tone, same song, like he has had one idea and has rode it for the last 3 albums, just total wallpaper music.

He's marginally cute, but come on now.

Different Strokes for different folks. You are what I call a Prince snob, no current artist has as much depth as Prince, but I find Jack Johnsons music to be enjoyable. It is like a sunny day on the beach. Kind of like Jimmy Buffett, he is not master composer either but his music can make you happy.

Yeah, he's to some people's taste and not others. I don't see where you're coming from though when you say all of his music is the "same".

Well here are the top ten songs I've played on my i-pod

The Name of The Game - ABBA
Pour Some Sugar On Me - Def Leppard
The Grass Is Blue - Dolly Parton
Breakaway - Kelly Clarkson
Se A Vida (That's The Way Life Is) - Pet Shop Boys
Sorry - Madonna
Brand New Orleans - Prince
Jump - Madonna
Armageddon It - Def Leppard
Since U Been Gone - Kelly Clarkson

I'm so not a music snob, I love cheesy pop.

I don't know Jimmy Buffet at all except that he's the guy in the Hawaiian shirt that has massive concert grosses.
Jack Johnsons appeal does not surprise me, if it makes you happy more power to you.

Me too nod
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

He's a gimmick: 'Former surf-dude in Hawaiian shirt making cool music to sit at the camp-fire by, for the girls to like, free larger-than-life poster with cd!'

yawn
