JAMIROQUAI' return of the space cowboy....

Its been done a few times over the years but i just had to attempt again to get some of u orgers into this album...People who know what time it is know ITS THE BOMB !!!!! A lot of folks seem to lump jamiroquai into some kinda neo soul...acid jazz...retro funk/disco bag...and granted Im not exactly bowled over by their last few albums...BUT that mainly has to do with the fact that the "NUCLEUS" of the band split after the first 3 albums...Im talking about maybe the baddest groovinest bassist of the last 15 years....MR STUART ZENDER and the very melodically gifted keyboardist MR TOBY SMITH...what these two guys and JAY K put together on RETURN OF THE SPACE COWBOY was pure magic...In my opinion as great as any of their influences....songs like:

stillness in time...
Mr moon..
light years..
return of the space cowboy...
just another story...ect

were made of melodic GOLD !!! You can sleep on it if u want...but people that know the deal about this record have been blessed with something LIGHT YEARS beyond 85% of the music that came out in the 90's surely greater than our man princes 90's output...I just had to say it again...because i almost got tears in my eyes while listening to the bassline in light years where jay sings
"now i got that sunshine in my life..."
ITS SOOOOO SUPERBAD !!! & I believe him cause i feel the same way when i hear this tune !

One of the best albums of the 90's, and one that has a slot of funk IMO.
Scam, Mr Moon, Light Years and Space cowboy are my favorites. I will never grow tired of this album.

I've been a big fan of Stuart Zender and Jamiroquai since their first album came out. ROTSC is my favorite....

Did you know that Stuart Zender doesn't play bass on the album version of ROTSC? It's a "mystery" session bassist that is playing on that track. Stuart said so himself on his website. That tripped me out when I first heard about it cuz that's the best bass part in the whole Jamiroquai catalog IMO. What happened is Stuart was away resolving some personal issues and Jay Kay decided to hire a session bassist to come in and play on that track while Stuart was away. He didn't tell Stuart about it until after it was done and Stuart kinda felt betrayed at the time.

Hands down my all time fave Jamiroquai CD. This is the CD I put on when I'm getting ready to go out and party. Classic.

Space Cowboy, Traveling Without Moving and Synchronized were all classics. My favorites from this album are the title track, "Half the Man I Used to Be", "Light Years" and "Manifest Destiny"(tight bass line)

"..I'm glad, oh that I found..somebody who I could re-LY on.."

I'm gonna have to pull that out now. music

"Just another Story" is also the first song on the CD. At least on the one I have (bought it on the release day in 1994).

Me too.

Perhaps that accounts for why iTunes shows "Just Another Story" as the first track when ROTSC is actually track one.
