Wicked Wisdom?

Has anyone heard Jada's band yet? I just listened to a few samples online and it's actually pretty heavy. Is it worth buying?

i've been wanting to check this, only because Fish is pounding the drums for her. lol

i've only read and heard bad reviews about Jada's band, but i'm thinking Fish has to be there for a reason, i can't believe it's just the money.

i've heard bad things too but i'm still willing to give it a fair shot because i think people will automatically say it's crap because she's a celebrity actress and Will Smith's wife. also a black woman doing metal will also cause controversy. people are so narrow minded. i'm not sure who Fish is. What else has he been in?

Where did you hear these?...and were they of the old stuff or new? I only discovered the new song/video a month or so ago. Here: "Something Inside of Me". They're good. May try to catch them with Sevendust.

I didn't realize the second album just came out yesterday. I got it off the site months ago so it's old to me but since this is like the 3rd WW thread in the last several months i've been listening to the album more and it's grown on me alot. Before there were a few songs I liked but that was it and it's a BIG difference from their debut album but now I like them both.

The stuff I heard is from the brand new cd. I actually ended up buying it and it's heavy as hell. Go Jada!

which tracks are your favorite? why do people say they suck so badly? is it just because she's a hollywood actress and will smith's wife? also because she's black i'm sure people will get all crazy over that but i think it's cool as hell. i'm a black rock chick myself so i'm down with that!

Something Inside Of Me, Yesterday Don't Mean, Set Me Free, Forgiven and Reckoning. Fakeness reminds me a lot of Korn but I'm not that crazy about it.

I don't know enoug about metal to compare or say why folks aren't feeling it other than it being Jada or a black chic. When they were asked to do Ozzfest the 2nd disc wasn't really out and I always figured haters were listening to the first album and judging from that, so yeah, they were going to have problems based off of that music. That and the damn Britney affiliation.

People always question someone that wants to crossover into the realm of serious musician or when it appears they haven't paid their dues.

If the other tracks are like this one then they've probably found their voice.
I like this direction more than the last but I question if they're making it overly dark (lyrics are posted on site) so that people don't question her commitment.

I'm going to pick it up tomorrow. But I hate when I really feel a song and months down the line, when I finally pay attention to the lyrics, I discover that I'd been listening to some really sick stuff. It's happened a lot.

What did you think of the other tracks?

I haven't checked out all the lyrics from the 2nd album but so far I haven't come across anything sick or disturbing.

I thought the first album was a bit dark altho not as much as this one, so I don't think or at least hope that they're not purposely putting out there. I may give it another listen today and check out the songs I'm not crazy about but I've listened to it in its entirety a few times with no problem.

The stuff they're doing now is very different...much harder. I still don't have the CD, though. I keep end up getting DVD's instead. I did just hear "Bleed all over me". Will have to hear it again. Something seems wrong in the mix. Kinda like in the end they were afraid of the lyrics and hid them behind the music. With this music, if you don't have conviction, don't bother. Maybe Will had someone do this.

I may pick it up this weekend. Will definitely check them out this month, though. Been wanting to see Sevendust for some time, so that will be a nice bonus.
