I recently discovered the joys of Moving Violation Get It Together. The song To Late To Change The Time is great and considering how MJ life has become very poignant.

I am also in love with the song "Touch" which MJ co-sings with Jermaine but I am not quite sure from which album.

I didn't register moving-violation.co.uk as my rather irritatingly long domain name for nothing.

Good thread! I ran TWO threads on my all time fave album by them. Which so happens to be the Maybe Tomorrow album. I LOVE this album. Now understand, I LOVE most of the J5's albums, but none like Maybe Tomorrow. That album is perfect from top to bottom. Even non single songs like the brilliant "The Wall". That shit is bangin'! "Petals", "It's Great To Be Here", "We've Got Blue Skies" and "Honey Chile". Ya'll ever listen to the drums on that track?! Killin'! The musicianship on this album is through the roof! This is the J5 at their peak.

How bizarre. Maybe Tomorrow is my least favourite. I loathe Petals and 16 Candles. Filler rubbish that makes me angry because pretty much all the stuff that eventually got released on the Soulstaion box set and other Anthology compilations that were previously in the vault, are much better than those album tracks.

That's what's so cool about this world; everybody's different.

Can anyone tell me which album is the song "Touch" from. It's a very beautiful song, however almost sounds a little too seductive for a 14 yr old to be singing, even if he is singing it with his 18 yr old brother. razz

March 2, 2006 - Police in Gary, Ind., confirmed that Johnny Porter Jackson, who was a drummer for the Jackson Five, was killed Wednesday night.
Police said they were called to a home at 262 Connecticut Street just after 11 p.m. for a domestic disturbance. Officers found Jackson on the ground with a stab wound to the chest.

A neighbor told officers he heard Jackson arguing with a female.

Jackson, believed to be Michael Jackson's first cousin, would have turned 55 years old Friday.

====

He wasn't actually their cousin, but he still toured with them after they were famous before Randy took over.

Damn, man. That's too bad. I've ALWAYS wanted the drumset that he used. It had their great J5 logo with the hearts on it. Homeboy was hella cool, with the huge hat with the white feather. I went to see the J5 when I was 4 years old with my mom at The Forum. There is a great shot of the drummer in all his pimped out glory on the Flip Wilson show.

Dig, I mentioned this on here before. I know Pali can testify to me saying this; One of the main reasons the J5 was soooo cool was because of their wardrobe. The Motown wardrobe department were on it with these guys. They didn't dress them like the kids they were but like the 2 BIGGEST black artist of the day; Hendrix and Sly. The J5's wardrobe were straight out of Jimi's and Sly's closets.

I noticed that too. In the beginning at least, they never wore the same clothes like most boy groups. The J5 in general were quite original. Apparently, and correct me if I am wrong, Prince was influence by them as well as groups like Fugees..

There is no way P, being the same age as MJ, not being influenced by Mike and the J5.

OK I lied. It's got to be the original vinyl of "Anthology" nod I gots me 2 of them. When I was a toddler my two older sisters (and cousins, sometimes) would spin these three discs and have our own little "Kiddie Club" parties. Mom would join in and serenade me on "Forever Came Today" and "Just A Little Bit Of You". touched And even today I look at the pics in the tri-fold "book", as I used to call it, and think... omg Damn!

Awwwww, what memories!!

The Jackson Five was my first concert ever (I was 12 and determined to marry Jermaine). lol

My fave is Third Album. Ya'll cannot forget about these songs...
Can I See You In The Morning
Bridge Over Troubled Water, (Jermaine tore that one up!)
Reach In (love the bass on this one)
The Love I Saw In You Was Just A mirage

And of course, I'll Be There. There isn't one song on this album I don't love.

Anyway, I love all the J5 albums.
Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.
