I enjoyed the link to Cab Calloway, the music from The Music Man, Sly Stone, etc.....never thought about that music/sound as early "Hip-Hop", but I can hear the resemblance now that it has been pointed out to me. I also enjoyed Ice-T's comments on gansta rap.....I respect his opinion not only on rap, but also some of his comments on jazz.....  "Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive."
