I enjoyed the link to Cab Calloway, the music from The Music Man, Sly Stone, etc.....never thought about that music/sound as early "Hip-Hop", but I can hear the resemblance now that it has been pointed out to me. I also enjoyed Ice-T's comments on gansta rap.....I respect his opinion not only on rap, but also some of his comments on jazz..... worship
