I just listened to this. Pretty funky groove... Listening to the first 29 seconds it sounds 100 % like a Prince track from the 1999 era (something Prince would do for the Time)... after that the lead guitar kicks in... Wow... that's Satch playing the bass... not bad!

Actually the melody kind of sounds like the Walk by the Time.
