Is Mojo Nixon PUNK or just nuts with tune titles like...

The Amazing Bigfoot Diet
Gonna Put My Face On A Nuclear Bomb
I Ain't Gonna Piss in No Jar
I'm Gonna Dig up Howling Wolf
Don't Want No Foo-Foo Haircut on My Head
Debbie Gibson Is Pregnant with My Two-Headed Love Child
She's Vibrator Dependent
Took Out The Trash and Never Came Back
Buck Up & Stop Your Whinin'
Bring Me The Head of David Geffen

... smile

And the main reason that I even know about this guy...Don Henley Must Die cool

In other words, they paid their dues and put the time in on their instruments before they went "outside".

A musical neophyte, bashing and thrashing an instrument as some kind of political statement or just because they're pissed off is something I just don't understand.

Would you like it better if the music was played by accomplished musicians? batting eyes

One of my friends knows how to play guitar. But when composing, what comes out is punk, upset, raw, without any blanck to have rest. We both like the same music and wanted to do something together, but after 3 minutes my ears get sour and my head like a pumpkin.

The best Mojo Nixon reference I ever heard was in the Dead Milkmen's "Punk Rock Girl" when the singer describes how he goes into a record store and askes for Mojo Nixon and the store guy says "He don't work here".

I guess you had to be there.

That's actually pretty funny when you consider that you could insert any "obscure" or out of the mainstream artist's name into Mojo's place and make the joke work. wink

That song came out in 1988. It sounds funny when you're in high school. boxed
