Most Underrated Favorite R&B slow jams and ballads

I'm really enjoying Dewalliz's recent thread on "Most underrated favorite funk or disco songs" and I thought it would be fun to have another thread, this time focusing on those underrated R&B slow jams.Everyone goes crazy over songs like Heatwave's "Always and Forever",or Marvin Gaye's "Sexual Healing",but what about those wonderful songs that people forgot about? Here's my list...

"Love Makin' Music" by Barry White (1980)---quite possibly, the sexiest song of all time

"Magic Man" by Robert Winters and Fall (1981)

"Baby,I Need Your Love Today" by Sweet Thunder (1978)

"Love Jones" by Brighter Side Of Darkness (1973)

"Remember The Rain" by 21st Century (1975)

"Look Around" by Freddie Jackson (1986)

"More and More" by Atlantic Starr (1983)

"In The Mood" by Tyrone Davis (1979)

"Off And On Love" by Champaign (1984)---do these guys have a Greatest Hits CD by now??

"Stop The World" by Teena Marie (1983)

"Imagination" by Earth Wind and Fire (1976)---yes,"Reasons" is nice, but where is the love for this tune?

to be continued...

Johnny Gill and Stacy Lattisaw-Perfect Combination
One Way-Lady You Are
Evelyn King-Kisses Don't Lie (Thats the f**king slow jam)
Al Jarreau-Teach Me Tonight
Deniece Williams-Magic Moments
Diana Ross-Muscles
Sheila E.-Hold Me
Force MD's-Love is a house
Freddie Jackson-Have you ever loved somebody
Gregory Abbott-I go the feeling it's over
Rose Brothers-I Get Off On You
Heavy D & the Boyz-Don't You Know
Loose Ends-You Can't stop the rain
Michael Cooper-Dinner For Two
Rude Boys-Are You Lonely for Me
Surface-Let's Try Again
Teena Marie-OOO La La La
World Class Wreckin Cru-Turn Off the Lights

In my opinion, I do like a few slow songs in the 70s and early 80s like some from the Stylistics, Earth Wind and Fire, etc but I started to like slow jams after around 1985 after funk and disco music died down. biggrin
Good spin-off thread Davideye.

Here's one that I love that hardly anyone has ever heard: "Madame X" - Madame X. Great ballad from their only album back in 1987.
