Law and Order and Rent star Jesse L. Martin is going to play Marvin in the upcoming motion picture "Sexual Healing". I think that's perfect casting. Jesse said he's blown away because Marvin is his idol and that he always wanted to play Marvin in something. I think it's cool, cuz Jesse's a very good actor and I think he'll do a good job "emoting" Marvin's complex personality. For those that dig Marvin, what do ya'll think? Zap2it.com-Movie news

That's a hell of a choice. I think he's as perfect of a choice as I can think of. Too bad River Phoenix's brother got so much buzz for that Johnny Cash movie because it's probably gonna steal any chance he would've had for being nominated for an Oscar regardless of how amazing the performance is. I say that because they probably won't nominate 3 music bio flicks in a row (or 3 out of 4 years depending on when it's released)

Cool! It is about time that they are going to make it a movie. I been hearing the talk of making a Marvin Gaye movie back after they done the Jackson movie back in '92. I love Marvin Gaye and he happened to be one of my favorite Motown artists among with old motown artists like Martha Reeves & The Vandellas, Rick James of course, Teena Marie, and Boyz II Men.

Yes, it is overdue to have a movie of any kind about Marvin, and Jesse has the looks to make it believeable. We'll see what they do with it in a couple of years.

Yeah he kind of looks like the Marvin Gaye from the What's Goin On era. He should do a good job too. Especially during the singing performances. He looked like a natural in the movie "Rent" although it was clear he was lip synching. This could do for his career what "Ray" did for Jamie Foxx.
