I was going to start a Heart thread this week actually!
"Magic Man" is one of my favorite songs of all-time. "Crazy On You" is also a great one of course. "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven

Sofia Coppola put Magic Man and particularly Crazy on You to great use in Virgin Suicides. I love that movie for many reasons, but it's score and soundtrack are two big reasons why.

And you know why? Zeppelin. They were/are huge Zeppelin fans and have cited them in numerous interviews as a huge influence on their sound. "Magic Man" for example couldn't get any more Zeppelinesque. The riff is sort of a slowed down "Whole Lotta Love" and the guitar solo is straight out of "Heartbreaker". And the song "Sing Child" actually does have the same riff and bassline as "Heartbreaker" in it. The word "heartbreaker" is even in the lyrics of this one. I always thought that "Magic Man" was about Jimmy Page actually. (you know, all the black magic rumors and having "magic hands". ) Cold late night so long ago When I was not so strong you know A pretty man came to me Never seen eyes so blue You know I could not run away It seemed we'd seen each other in a dream It seemed like he knew me He looked right through me, yeah "Come on home, girl" he said with a smile "You don't have to love me and Let's get high awhile But try to understand Try to understand Try try try to understand I'm a magic man." Winter nights we sang in tune Played inside the months of June Never think of never Let this spell last forever Summer lover passed to fall Tried to realize it all Mama says she's worried Growing up in a hurry, yeah "Come on home, girl" mama cried on the phone "Too soon to lose my baby and my girl should be at home!" "But try to understand, try to understand Try try try to understand He's a magic man, mama, ah ... He's a magic man" "Come on home, girl" he said with a smile "I cast my spell of love on you, a woman from a child! But try to understand, try to understand, oh ... oh ... Try try to understand Try try try to understand He's a magic man!" oh yeah Oh, you've got the magic hands "Come on home, girl" he said with a smile "You don't have to love me yet Let's get high awhile But try to understand Try to understand Try try try to understand He's a magic man." yeah ... oh ... Yeah, and I'm sure everyone is just dying to see it too. If I can find it easily, (you know, the multiple hard drives of photos and all) I'll post it. Just for you. The best part of Godfather 3 is when Sofia took a bullet. She's the WORST actress alive (heck of a director, though) Occupy Alphabet Street!

But back to Heart...I listened to the latest 'Jupiter's Darling' last night - old time Heart fans should get this one. Tons of great vocals, harmonies, slammin guitar, mellotron & moog ...the good stuff is all there. Very well done
