WHY DOESN'T TODD RUNDGREN HAVE MORE THREADS ABOUT HIM ON HERE Sorry about to jump on my high horse and get full of myself...wait I'm not sorry about the high horse part, somewhat about the full of myself part more so due to myself than anyone else but I digress.
Why doesn't Todd Rundgren get more respect in this prince.org community. Since you people are supposedly so knowledgeable and well versed in music. Could it be that most of you are really posers who don't have a vast musical knowledge? Hmm, inquiring minds want to know. Now me step off my high horse that's walking on stilts.

Well we've had a few vs. Isley Brothers threads and a lot of us prefer Todd's version of "Hello It's Me".

Of course nobody on here remembers my threads on Todd. His cut "International Feel" where I mentioned I wonder where P got his title from. And I ran a thread on his covers of "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "If 6 Was 9". But yeah, anybody who digs good music is going to dig Todd somewhere in their lifetime. At least I hope. Todd's name has been in the press a lot more lately cuz of all of the comparisons to Lewis Taylor. That's good, cuz maybe folks who dig Lewis, but never heard of Todd will backtrack and check Todd's shit out. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. A Wizard/ A True star has the best moldies pound for pound than any other album I've heard. It's great, so great it probably should've been a double album like the albums it's sandwiched between.
--edit--- me meant "melodies" i don't know where moldies came from [Edited 2/18/06 15:42pm]

A Wizard A True Star is a hard album to digest. I have it and I like it, but it's a strange, strange album.

Just to throw my hat into the "It's all been done before" ring, here's a repost of one of my past Todd posts.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= "So long ago and so far away..." (late '60s), there was Pop and there was Guitar Rock and never the twain was supposed to meet. As a matter of fact during this time, the Guitar Rock crowd looked down upon the Pop people like they were pond scum. Then I heard "Open My Eyes" by this group called Nazz on FM radio (Guitar Rock land) which combined a not necessarily heavy but cool distored guitar riff, pop style harmonies and psychedelic flanging. Upon searching out the album... ...I noticed some the cover imgagery was being used to remind you of another foursome... The tracks that pulled me in, along with Open My Eyes, were See What You Can Be, If That's the Way You Feel, When I Get My Plane, She's Goin' Down and nice little ballad called Hello It's Me. The vocal harmonies are pure pop, reminding me at times of The Association. Crowded (from the 1st album) could have been written for them and tell me you don't hear melodic and harmonic strains of Along Comes Mary within the verses of Forget All About It (from the 2nd album, Nazz Nazz). So that was my first brush with the "Runt" that would eventually find Utopia and more. Regardless of his many eclectic musical adventures, with tunes like... We Gotta Get You A Woman I Saw the Light Real Man Love of the Common Man Can We Still Be Friends Time Heals Bang The Drum All Day Love Is The Answer A Dream Goes On Forever Something to Fall Back On The Want Of A Nail (among others) ...one thing's for sure. Todd knows Pop. Even long ago. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."
