It would kewl to see him work with Quincy or Phil Ramone and make an adult CD. I don't mean like adult contemporary but do like Sinatra and Streisand and sing about where you are in life at that age.

No way. Michael's nest album will be HIStory Book II for sure, considering where he's been in the last 4 years. He's been to hell and back. If you gut accused of a crime you didn't commit, and to make it worse, the whole world thought you did it, you'd be pissed off!! Bring on HIStory Book II cool

I can't believe some Prince fans are doubting MJ's ability to sell an album. Invincible sold 8 million. Prince hasn't sold 8 million or more copies of an album since Diamonds & Pearls. Since 1994, he's been selling 2 million copies or less of each album. Michael Jackson has sold more than twice as much as Prince since 1979 and Michael has released 7 albums in the same time Prince has released 30+. It's unjustified that a Prince fan would question Michael Jackson's ability to sell records. You guys will be eating your words when Michael Jackson returns to the music scene.

Oh no doubt. if you fan of his music or not. the mofo sells recoreds! hell his "clossail failure" invincible outsold Justin Timberlake;s break out "justfied" lmao.

p.s. according to mj it sold 10 mill.

I thought HIStory (Disc 2) and BOTDF were some of the most personal, private and amazing songs he has done to date. I'd love to see him walk in that direction.

YES! that is what i want more then anything and have been dying to hear for a long time, more songs in the same vein as BOTDF. those 5 new songs are some of my all time favbourtie songs ever not just michael songs. to me that was his artisitc peak in terms of songwriting. the songs are so dark (excluding superfly sister) which i love, dark, haunting mj is the best, i really couldnt care less for fluffy light hearted michael (which could be a big reason why i dont like off the wall but love destiny and triumph), and considering all hes been through the past years, theres a good chance that could happen. if we get another invincible or a tryhard off the wall like most people on here seem to want, i cant even put into words how dissapointed i'll be.

So here you are saying MJ is better than Prince because he has sold more albums...but a little higher up on this thread you brushed off MJ's music as "bubblegum pop"? "Basically, Michael Jackson has been doing bubblegum pop for 40 years..." So MJ makes junk music that happens to have sold really well? I'm no fan of his anymore, but I wouldn't say that of his entire catalog!

What Michael Jackson needs to do is abandon the entire pop persona and give us some of that old school, "Off the Wall" type Funk. He has the potential to make a really soulful LP if he would just let go of the pop shenanigins. He's spent the past 20+ years chasing the success of "Thriller" and that will never be attained again, at least not in this lifetime. Michael needs to get with some taleneted producers and just bring it. Stop worrying about how many times platinum it will go and just do it. That's what I'm hoping he will do.

On the cool... he really needs to swallow his pride and get with Quincy Jones. Talk about a comeback!

I didn't say Michael is better than Prince. I said he sold more than Prince, because another person was questioning Michael's ability to sell records. I do veiw most of his catalogue as bubblegum pop. He has a few good pop songs, but it's really only songs where he steps away from mainstream pop that I like (e.g. Liberian Girl, Who Is It, Childhood, Little Susie, Morphine, and to an extent, Whatever Happens). But I do like Blood on the Dance Floor, 2 Bad, You Rock My World, Smooth Criminal and a few other good pop songs he's made.
