One of the most danceable songs ever. I don't think anything in recent times has come close to matching it. Classic!

Are there any harps in the video? They've always struck me as pretty gay.

I've been getting into him lately too. I just bought "Rock the Box" and while it's spotty, it has some great stuff on there (it was worth it just for the original title track alone). I want to check out more and the CDs you just listed sound like a good place to start.

That's what I was thinking when you mentioned the video. Haven't seen it many times, but, yeah, that scene sticks out. That video makes Boy George look like a wallflower!

Loved this song for yearrrs.

Side note: Watch Whoopi Goldberg's "Back To Broadway: 20th Anniversary Special" on HBO or DVD. You'll see that she infuses this tune in her stage production. thumbs up!

I love the "Living Proof" live album. Sylvester turns it out with the disco songs and he really turns it out with the slow jams. His version of "You Are My Friend" with Martha Wash and Izora Rhodes put Patti LaBelle's version to shame. He definately wasn't afraid to show his gayness either. He remade "Lover Man" and dedicated "Sharing Something Perfect Between Ourselves" to his lover in the audience. The man was truly ahead of his time.

lol That video was great. He was workin' that fan like the girls on "Soul Train" used to do during that era.

I just bought a 2 CD set called "Greatest Hits" and "Rock The Box" is included on there. It also has a great remix of "Do Ya Wanna Funk".

I have a few of his vinyl albums and recently have bought a few CD imports in the record store. They were expensive as hell, like $25 each but they do have 12 Inch versions at the end of the album. Once I bought them, I never saw them in the store again so if you see something of Sylvester's, buy it immediately.

his first backup singers were the pointer sisters and they were replaced by izora and martha...if nothing else, he launched some good careers.

Yeah, I think I saw that and "Rock the Box" was a remix and from what I heard, an inferior one (the remix included on the CD RTB isn't very good). Maybe I'll check it out, though. And why a remix of "Do You Wanna Funk"? I'm not that familar with the original but apparently it's one of his most highly noted songs.

Man, will someone post this video? Please upload it on rapidshare, take one for the team man.

I went through my Sylvester phase last year. Man, I love his stuff. I annoyed many people with my rendition(s) of You make me feel. That's probably my all time favorite song to sing, it rocks. I love the bump in intensity the vocals on the second verse take. I love that song, I like Do you wanna funk too. But back to the topic at hand. Could someone upload this video. I have my own vote for gayest video ever which I will provide a youtube link to later...
