I have officially forgiven INXS

I know that sounds crazy, but even though i bought SWITCH i was stil angry and hating on JD and INXS for doing this. I have been into INXS since day one, ive got it all, demos, bsides, mixes, everything from the beginning, and when Michael died i think i felt that the band was gone. But in reality the INXS with Michael was the only thing that has gone. If there are any other true INXS fans I think u should buy the SWITCH Dual Disc version and just watch INXS record this new record and listen to their interviews. I realized that INXS had every right to go out and still be a band, sure its difficult or im sure some of us think its all for money and stuff like that, well why do we go to work in the morning?? not for money?? I dont think INXS hired JD to make money, i mean INXS in terms of popularity was a done deal, though I feel they were doing there best work on the last few cds, no one else really cared and that is a shame. The Fact that SWITCH has sold more copies in the USA than their last 3 cds combined shows something, sure maybe it was the hype of ROCKSTAR or maybe it was just VH1 giving them some airtime and a label maybe pushing a little bit more than before.

Next Up for INXS is AFTERGLOW, now this single could be huge and it should be, I know some people have said that SWITCH sounds nothing like an INXS record, well i tend to disagree on that. I think SWITCH sounds very Inxs-like, I mean Devils Party, Dirty Vegas, Afterglow, Perfect strangers and lets not forget Gods Top Ten, just that drum beat at the end on the final verse, is all INXS. If U do get the Dual Disc version check out the interview for Gods top ten, and tell me U can still be mad at these guys, they have gone through alot and still are.

I still can't bring myself to buying this.

Im with you squirrekmeat...just go away INXS w/JD...i could live with them if they had changed their name, i might have even bought switch if it were under another banner, but INXS are NOT and NEVER will be INXS with JD on vocals...

I'm not an INXS fan but, I do like a few of their songs w/ Michael. OMG!! he was so hot in I need you tonight.

I understand the money thing and the whole movin' on thing but it doesn't make them look so great. But, I will take a listen to their new cd on itunes to see what I think. If it's good, then good for them.

I think the new single is mediocre at best, and yet I've heard it on the local radio station at least 60-75 times over the last month

Tell me, do the other songs have saxophone? You might not think about it much, but sax is absolutely essential to the INXS sound. Just curious.

Not digging the new lead singer, he seems more interested in showing off his belly button and posing for the camera, than anything else. At best, he's a weak imitation of Micheal Hutchence. They may have fared better going with an entirely different and unique lead singer, than someone that sorta but not quite resembles their former one.

I have been an INXS fan since the Original Sin days and i must say that
I missed the killer voice of Michael Hutchensen. But i started watching
Rockstar and was rooting for JD all the way, because he was the only one
who had great stage presence like mike did. As for the album SWITCH I couldnt
agree more that it is totally INXS music. It rocks and is a complete album
just like KICK.....all the way through. JD does an awesome job at vocals
and i think INXS is back in a huge way

I realize that many people have mixed feelings about the new INXS. I have always liked the band and was very skeptical when I heard about Rock Star. I watched most of the show and I think the original members made a good choice with JD.

I can understand how some people hate what they did and will never embrace the new INXS. Having said that, we all must remember that Michael was not the entire band. Sure, he was a great singer and very sexy and charismatic, but the other members of the band contributed to the writing of most, if not all of the songs and I believe they have every right to get a new singer and continue on with their music. There are some singers that can never be replaced, but IMHO INXS replaced Michael very well. I don't have the new cd, but I have heard it a few times and it's not bad.

INXS is shit without michael hutchence

its like Queen without Freddie mercury

INXS was the shit up until hutchence ended his own life,

i mean comon

classics like "The devil inside", "i need you tonight", etc

and the absolute classic album of Kick, its unbeatable

even in the 90s the output was great

Kick is simply one of the best albums ive ever heard,

you can listen to it anytime and it has the signature inxs sound,

Hutchence is a freaking legend, shame he ended his life

I sort of agree. I don't think they're shit, but I am just not interested
in INXS without my boy Michael Hutchence.

Without Michael Hutchence, I doubt I will seriously buy a disc of new Inxs music. I actually did buy "Switch" but I took it back before I opened it. boxed
Michael Hutchence is one of my all time favorite vocalists..ever. And I looooove Inxs (esp. Elegantly Wasted.) I also think the guys in the band are amazing musicians. I would have rather them changed the band's name though. The song "Pretty Vegas" would have been catchy without the name Inxs attatched to it.
At any rate, my friend and I are planning to check out the tour when it hits my town. thumbs up! Good luck to the new Inxs. And lots of love to Michael, who is hopefully in a much better place these days.

Alot of people will just dismiss it because you arent supposed to replace anyone in a band. Well if U ask INXS members they can never Replace Michael and they have said that for the past years since his death, nor are they trying to. Inxs have always wanted to stay a Band, now some say Change the name because U arent INXS anymore, i understand the anger, but until we are in a situation like this then we shouldnt TELL them what to do. Inxs have been a band for a long time, 3 Brothers in the Band, just a very tight unit, I mean they already Lost Michael, why shouldnt they stay together, and why shouldnt they use the Name that ALL of them including Michael created. I think the bigger Betrayal to MICHAEL would be carrying on as a band but changing the name. And trust me this was hard for me to get around since INXS have always been a fave of my mine since day one
