You can't take away the fact that when Michael dances, it's magical...so much so that people expect him to defy the laws of physics. The whole thing is still brilliant. More so even.

I agree, and I don't care what anybody says, Michael Jackson is the greatest thing to ever happen. His dancing, his singing, his songs, his videos, everything, he is out of this world. When you think about the many talents he has, the long career he's had, the weird life he's led, from plastic surgery to skin colour and everything, it's massive! It's like when you think about the universe and how it started and where it ends, it gets to the point where it's too massive to even think about, and it's the same with Michael Jackson's music and life, he's a phenomenon.

Adn just because Michael's such a great live performer, here is one of his best performance he's ever done. Billie Jean in Bucharest(???) (1992) - http://www.youtube.com/?v=KYnZQlqs-k8 His dancing and stage presence is amazing in this performance, however, it's not his best vocal performance.

Add some more MJ videos that you've found on you tube or put file.

I recently watched the Dangerous performance from 1995 at MTV video music awards and I tried to watch it several times paying attention to the dancers around him, to see how they were doing it, because you always focus just on Mike and it seemed as if they were dancing semething totally different. It like that saying that "when two ppl do the same thing, it´s not the same". MJ´s moves are the most precise, gracious, natural. He does it as if it was nothing. The rest of the dancers look ridiculous compared to him. Just watch that performance, especially the part after he takes the cigarette off that guys mouth, walks over him and continues dancing withoug singing. It´s fabulous. Or the ending part of Smooth Criminal with everybody dancing after that bit with the little boy imitating him. His moves are out of this world.
"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

I personally believe has time has gone on his best performances were when he was younger, between his late teens and mid-20s. biggrin There was something very natural and earthy about those performances. I watched the 1975 Mexico concert with the J5 and he was so much more spontaneous and soulful than anything that I have seen in more recent years and that includes the Bad concerts, which I attended.

In more recent years his footwork and vocals have become more technical and complex but I believe the Soul which was the very essence of Michael Jackson has virtually disappear. IMO both his dancing and music have become soulless...

I used to think MJ was the best dancer around, but after a while, it felt like in only had a small amount of ideas.

The dancing for Off The Wall and Thriller were original and inpirational, even upto the point of Captain Eo. But by the time he got to Dangerous, it was just more of the same, time and time again.

I actually became sick of the same old knee up leg wiggles and spins and poses.

The dancing in Black or White, Keep in in the closet onwards just seems like the same old moves over and over again. Coupled with the same dated semi military outfits or socks, it seemed he was stuck in a comfort zone.

There are still some individual great moves, but they are few and far between. It seems to be the same old stuff knees up, hat tilt, shirt pull, semi robotic stuff for over 15 years.

That's a pretty cool effect to pull off in concert (even if he fell!). I always assumed they faked it for the video.

That's so true. However I do believe that those are the moves his mainstream fans want to see, they want to see Michael Jackson "the Video Star" as opposed to Michael the Funky brotha who would just get down and dance..
