A big switch in CAMEO's career : ALLIGATOR WOMAN - 1982 ( videoclip of "FLIRT" in topic ) Word up , knights of Cameolot ,
How did ya dig this change in set-up ? From a 10 to a 5-piece unit . Both era's had their strong points ( imo) . Personally , i grew up with the "Style" album ( 1983 ) . This was a continued concept which they started with Alligator Woman ( as they told in interviews ) . Less horns and more synths , but they still were in a fully armed unit on stage . And eventhough their 70's work is of classic quality , my personal 3 albums go to "Alligator Woman" , "Style" and "She's Strange". The "She's Strange"-concept had excellent jams , with some slightly jazz-vibe . Because i'm living in Europe , i unfortunately never had a chance to see their concerts during the 70's and early 80's in the USA . From what i've read , the mega-tour during "Knights Of The Soundtable" had a lot of impact over there . Luckily i saw them later for 3 times . The very first time in my country was their 1987 "She's Mine" Tour . It was a whirlwind and rollercoaster .... literally . They blew the audience away .... as Larry always told in interviews : "We respect the stage" ... well , nothing less said .... Even after years that they released a commercial well-sold album or single , they still got awarded by VIBE-magazine for "best live-group". Aiight , let's take a dive into memory lane ..... http://funk4ever.free.fr/dl/flirt.asf [Edited 2/19/06 3:21am]

Hey Rip , I heard from some US-fans that it was played then at BET . This clip and a few other classics were commercially around 1984 on BETA-videotape ( SONY ) and Laserdisc ( PIONEER )

All I know is that the way the title track segues into Secrets of Time...

RITE ! The clip of the Alligator Woman-track is also on that video-compilation . But too bad that they didn't put the sequel of "Secrets ..." behind it . On the 1987 show which i saw , they played "Secrets ... " , with Charlie Singleton and Tomi Jenkins on lead vocals . Larry played specially for this live-track on the drums .... that was a one of the many impressive moments during the concert . . . . [Edited 2/18/06 14:47pm]

This is my fave Cameo album and Charlie Singleton is one of my favorite guitarists. I remember Right On Magazine had a drawing contest for the "Alligator Woman" album cover. My author page: https://www.amazon.com/au...eretttruth

I'm surprised the video actually played on this computer. So many things have a message that says "Blocked by Websense". Anyway, great video. I've never seen that one before.
As for the album "Alligator Woman", I consider it Cameo's last "great" album. The ones that followed were "decent" but not near as funky as the ones before it. . . [Edited 2/19/06 15:29pm] Andy is a four letter word.
