I'm hoping this will be the album that gets me back into the PSBs. I love all their albums up until 'Nightlife', then I suddenly dropped off with 'Release'. I've never been able to work out why but I think VinnyM27 has hit the nail on the head. nod

Everything I've read about this album indicates it's going to be a great one. Fingers crossed!

Thanks for the title clarification, Vinny. "I'm with Stupid" actually would make a funny album title. And, yeah, I'm in the disappointed with "Release" camp. They do much better with that so-generic-its-unique nonorganic sound. Very excited about the new one.

Wow. That's a really nice way of describing their sound. Fits very well.

I love "Behavoir" as well and didn't think I would but "Release" is very stripped down. I never really got into it so maybe someone who did like it or gave it more of a chance could tell you. While "Behavoir" something that was natural, "Release" seemed like making a non-dance album just to say that they could.

i get what you are saying, and i felt that way at first, but Release grew on me after a while. I think Birthday Boy is an amazing track... and Home and Dry is one of my favorite PSB singles.

I liked "Home and Dry," too. That's a great song. Vinny actually hipped me to that track a couple years back on here.

"Home and Dry" is very good. No arguement there.

I'm with you, NorthernLad on these tunes, especially "Sexy Northerner" the original + all mixes of that tune are great.

Others I'm fond of...

A New Life (up there with my all time fave PSB cuts)
Bet She's Not Yr Grrrlfriend
I Want a Dog
Losing My Mind

Absolutely can't wait! Just got into the PSB about a year ago, and I've had a great time diving into their catalog. Unlike most of you, I really like 'Release', but don't care much for 'Nightlife'.

I'd really like an album along the lines of 'Flamboyant', though. I've been listening to that one on repeat lately.

My favorite B-sides are:

Don Juan (one of my favorite PSB songs ever)
Paninaro
I Get Excited (You Get Excited Too)
Losing My Mind
I'm the first mammal to wear pants.

One of my fav PSB b-sides is "Your Funny Uncle", it's got such
beautiful melodic structure in the vocals

"another life begins today"

The best PSB b-side of all time is still "In The Night". what
an amazing song.

Love that album. worship

About time they did a follow-up of all the remaining B-sides. nod

I love so many of them but two that come to mind from that album are 'Miserabilism' and 'Decadence'. love

so true. even without the music, just from those lyrics
you would know that it'd have to be a pet shop boys song.

Okay, ya'll have made me decide to go and try to get my PSB collection updated by the time the next album comes out. Went out at lunch and grabbed 'Bilingual' from the local used cd store, just four more to go. I have, however, remembered why I 'fell off the bandwagon,' it's becouse it became impossible to find the 'special edition' cd's at the local stores i frequent (yeah, i'm too old fashioned to buy on line), thus my copy of bilingual is not the two cd version i always wanted. shrug maybe someday. Still, can't wait to get it onto my iPod...

Question: is PopArt worth it for someone w/all the albums? a quick look over the tracklist tells me no...

My don't you think it's worth it? It might be notable that all the songs are the hit verisons (the remixes of "I Wouldn't Normally Do..." and "Yesterday.." among others except for "Heart", I think). Also, I would say it's worth it almost alone for the two new tracks. Both amazing. Surprisingly, "Flamboyant" is more dancable than "Miracles", which is slightly dramatic. Also. go online and track down those special editions!
