Teena Marie "Square Biz" Does anybody love this song as much as I do? I find myself putting this song on repeat, it's a great song, love the melody (so catchy!), the horns, the drums, everything about it. It would be awesome to hear this song being performed live.

According to Teena standards, her voice is moderately in control on this song. I like it, one of her better tunes. The little rap where she starts saying how down she is makes me but the rest is good!

love that song especially her rap "But they ain’t got nothin’ on me
I’m less than five foot one, a hundred pounds of fun I like sophisticated funk." And she is telling the truth: she maybe short but she still is funky.

I've been hearing it on Sirius a lot....There is the 70s/80s R&B channel, Heart and Soul and the classic dance channel The Strobe and both play it ever so often.

Missy recycled that rap on Ciara's "1,2 Step":
I shake it like Jell-o, Make the boys say hello, Cause they know I'm rockin the beat I know you heard about a lot of great MC's, But they ain't got nothin on me, Because I'm 5 foot 2, I wanna dance with you, And I'm sophisticated fun, I eat filet mignon, And I'm nice and young, Best believe I'm number one

I absolutely LOVE this song!! In the summer of 1981,this was one of the baddest jams on the radio.Teena kicks ass on this track! Notably, this one of the first hit songs to feature a female rapping. On another recent thread,a few people were saying that they miss Teena's Motown days. She did ALOT of outstanding uptempo jams back then.Latter-day songs like "Lovergirl" are cool, but they can't compete with funky stuff like "Square Biz" and "Behind The Groove".
