The Dancefloor Report ::: Mid-February 2006 Dance music. Electronic music. Computer music. If it's hot, it's covered.
::: MID-FEBRUARY 2006 The buzz this February is all about Mylo's new album Destroy Rock & Roll. We finally got a release in the States and the remixes of "Doctor Pressure" are making their rounds in the clubs. ::: Lots of people have been talking up that new song by Rihanna called "S.O.S. (Rescue Me)" -- it samples Soft Cell's Tainted Love. Yeah, it's not like we haven't heard the song before, but Rihanna's update is worthy. I expect this to make a lot of noise on the American charts in the coming months. ::: Goldfrapp is releasing a special edition of their fabulous album Supernature stateside. It's expected to get a mid-March release. ::: Star 69 heads: You'll be happy to know that Peter Rauhofer is releasing a new compilation entitled I [Heart] New York, it's filled with a lot of NYC club goodies that you'll most likely hear over the next couple of months if you're in the Big Apple. ::: Final thought... if you haven't heard Hey Willpower's reworking of Annie's "Chewing Gum" -- you should! -- very quality and it bumps... available here. ::: THE LIST Mylo vs. Miami Sound Machine :: Doctor Pressure dirty club mix Madonna :: Sorry original + man with guitar remix Rihanna :: S.O.S. Willpower is a lot of fun and he doesn't get the attention he should. I wasn't aware that he'd changed the name to Hey Willpower. I've met Will a couple of times, and he's a nice guy. Awkward and shy but nice. This is a side project for him. Not that different from his work as one of the frontmen of Imperial Teen, though a departure nonetheless. Moonbeam promoted the hell out of that album here last year. He made it sound like the next Sgt. Peppers. He got me to buy it. I admit it was pretty good. She's playing here at the Mercury Lounge next month. I'm thinking about going.

I heard Annie is great live. I still haven't gotten a chance to see her. I actually messaged her and asked her to come to L.A. and do some gigs, she responded back and said that it's "in the works ".
