Things were starting to get really depressing by the time 1986 rolled around. R&B radio was starting to become flooded with boring adult contemporary stuff by people like Shitney Houston and Anita Baker. However, there were a few good jams left such as:

Word Up - Cameo
I'll Be All You Ever Need - Trinere
It's Automatic - Freestyle
Dream Team Is In The House - LA Dream Team
That's It (Don't Stop) - The Bronner Brothers
Rhythm Method - RJ's Latest Arrival
Let's Jam - Newcleus
You Better Quit - One Way
Earth To Mickey - Chaka Khan
Passion From A Woman - Krystol
Something About You - Vesta Williams
Reaction - Rebbie Jackson
Sex Appeal - Georgio
All Night - Trinere
The Fly - World Class Wrecking Crew
Bye-Bye - Janice
Engine No. 9 - Midnight Star
Smurf Rock - Gigolo Tony
You're So Fine - The Egyptian Lover
How Can We Be Wrong - Trinere
The Rain - Oran "Juice" Jones
Thunder And Lightning - Miss Thang
Crack Killed Applejack - General Kaine
U Turn - J. Blackfoot
She (I Can't Resist) - Jesse Johnson
Kiss - Prince
Control - Janet Jackson
Jane, Get Me Off This Crazy Thing - TV Tunes
They're Playing Our Song - Trinere
Change Of Heart - Cyndi Lauper
Zibble, Zibble (Get The Money) - The Gap Band

do you remember these R&B jams from 1986?

"Crush On You" by the Jets
"Once Bitten,Twice Shy" by Vesta
"Nail It To The Wall" by Stacy Lattisaw
"Insatiable Woman" by Isley Jasper Isley
"Talk To Me" by Chico DeBarge
"Firestarter" by Tease
"Private Number" by the Jets
"Sexy" by Klymaxx
"Mary Goes Round" by Ready For The World

I remember all of those except the Vesta song. "Talk To Me" by Chico Debarge was the jam that year.

I remember a lot more songs from that era but 1987 songs keep popping in my head. It's hard for me to remember what year they came out in because I graduated high school in 1985 and before then, I could simply remember what school year they came out in. Also, I try to forget a big portion of the late 1980s. lol

Hey, I didn't buy Beethoven's 5th in 1808 either.
I was only some months late this time.

I bet I got it years before most of the "long time" fans around though.
