1. How can MJ support black peformers when he ain't black no more!
2. SONY supported him during the allegations in 93, so he acting like a spoilt ungrateful brat!
3. He has made millions out of owning the Beatles etc catalogues, so how can he fight for artists rights?
4. He is a hasbeen and his blaming everyone else for his declime, but himself.

1. Vitiligo. Vi-ti-li-go.
2. They're not gonna drop an artist they can still make a killing off, are they?
3. He was the highest bidder. He didn't sign any contracts with the artists he makes money from. They did.
4. Naturally.

the sad thing about all of this is that because his timing was off, this whole ordeal is making michael jackson look like a big baby and a huge joke...

i have no reason not to believe what michael jackson is saying... he's not saying anything that other recording artists haven't been saying for years and years now... he's just being a little bit more extreme about it...

the whole problem with this is that he's been with sony(cbs/epic/columbia/whatthehellever) since 1979... that's 23 years... during that he has never had a record flop the way "invincible" has...

so instead of it looking like he's actually fighting for artists rights, it looks more like he's bitching at them because he can't accept that his record sucked and maybe he's just not as huge as he used to be...

had he made all of these complaints coming off of "thriller" and "bad", people would have believed him, because it would've seemed a lot more sincere...

that said, i'm still glad whenever people expose some of the injustices of the record company...

but, it is a business... so... sometimes i'm torn on the whole issue...

it's kinda like what ice-t said in a documentary about pimping ("pimps up, hoes down")... "the record company is the pimp and the artist is the hoe... it's your job to make money for them, and then they distribute your cut to you... you got to know where your place is... it was always my goal to be a good hoe and make them as money as i could, cause that would mean more money for me... then, of course, your goal should be to learn as much about the game as you can, so that one day, you reach the point where you can just pimp yourself out and just fuck the record company... but when you gotta know your place"... pimp

Maybe they should concentrate their energies on something a little bit more important than a cash register!Jackson hasnt made a worthwile artistic statement since 1978, hes been cocooned in his own little world since then anyway so maybe we should take his latest biullshit with a pinch of salt, As for Prince well have to wait for his next rant against the evils of corporate america and so on but im sure itll be along the same lines.Of course The record industry is corrupt blah blah but having a trillionaire head the so called "artists revolution" is about as convincing as him bringing out another great album or Prince probably for that matter.Get some friggin perspective you morons!!!

some concrete event must have happened, where Jackson and Matolla locked horns, and Jackson got verbally burned.

Just like soemthing concrete must have happened when Prince suddenly went against Warners in '94.

Prince has been calling the music business racist too (in too many songs and concerts to remember)...

but Prince and Jackson aren't in league.

I agree with you completely. This isn't about MJ fighting for artists' rights against the record companies. This is about MJ being mad at Sony because Invincible didn't sell as big as MJ thought it was going to sell. MJ didn't care anything about artists' rights until his album failed to be a mega hit.

The nerve of a man with a 300-acre California ranch going into Harlem and asking poor black people who live in tenement apartments to support him in his fight against a record company. There's people in Harlem who can barely pay their rent and here's MJ rolling up with his entourage waving idiotic, self-serving signs and asking these low income people to support his cause.

How exactly are minimum wage earning people supposed to reap any benefits from fighting the battle for recording artists' rights?

The thing is YES.. Because SONY owns ALL his music from 1978-2002

So they can release just like they do with Prince anytime they want.. a "Best Of".. "remastered Hits" albums from MJ

I think they are just saying "hey we think your new shit sucks .. we own the best part of your career.. so see yea later"

Michael is screwed and he doesn't even know it yet.

History repeats itself, and learning from what Warner Bors did to Prince..

WE will see the samething here.

1) Story leaks about MJ from sony through "unname sources"
2) Remastered Thriller albums anytime MJ release new material ..
3) Bad reviews in any magazine SONY owns to anything new MJ does.

This ALL happened to Prince.. and it will happened 20 TIMES WORST to MJ!! because MJ got personal with Tommy Mottola

MJ you have NO idea how screwed you are IF you stay in the Music Game..as a "artist/musician/entertainer"

Invincible was a flop because it sucked. No amount of marketing $$$ could've made it a hit, and I'm sure Tommy knew it. As a matter of fact, it was bad enough they pumped so many millions into making the album to begin with.

Michael needs to stop messing around with his face and get back to his music. If he spent half as much time writing some decent songs as he does trying to become a white woman, then maybe he could regain his throne.

Although . . . maybe if he started reconstructing himself back into a black man, then MAYBE his racist claims and his lyrics about lovin' women would be seem more...credible.

peace

P.S. - I'm sure he thought about writing "Slave" on his face also...but I don't think that they've invented a marker that can write on fake skin yet. big grin

Kinda off-topic here, but I have to make one small clarification to your comment...from all accounts (including her one-woman-show which centered around it), Margaret Cho was RELIEVED when her sitcom got cancelled, because the network was demanding her to lose an unnatural amount of weight and asking her to look "less Korean", and to add further insult to injury, the network hired "Korean experts" to lend "authenticity" to the characters based on Cho's own family, completely losing Cho's material in the process. Her show wasn't funny because the network wouldn't let her be. Anyone who's seen her stand-up or her films knows, this woman is pee-your-pants funny.

Just thought I'd throw that in there. Gotta represent the Cho, yo.

Hey Irish Echo...Do u know that all life has energy, and even when a person dies, his/her energy lives on...well 4 that reason, I really feel that u should take another look at the "avatar" u are using, cuz Malcolm's energy doesn't really go with the words that u are saying.

Now if u were talking about the liberation of humanity "By any means necessary" Then maybe I could understand, but when u are talking shit about Prince stating his views about Abraham Lincoln as a "black man" who grew up during "Jim Crow", then I think u are out of your league.

Perhaps Homer Simpson would be a better choice...

And what you really meant to say was "blah blah blah."

michael's 'dates' have been tatum o neal, liza, brooke shields, liz, denise rich, lisa marie, that nurse lady, brett barnes and jordy chandler. none of whom are black.

his management and lawyers aren't black. remember frank (all in the videos, all in the interviews) dileo.

he left berry gordy who went to the morris levy school of business same as tommy, babyface/la and all the legitimate businessmen of music.

one of his heros was walt disney who was supposedly very racist.

if he would have taken the podium winning his thriller awards and he would have said this it would have had more impact.

michael owns sly and litte richards music. (part of atv) so lets see him give them back.

mj is getting it to the surface of unexpectating ppl. about the music industry. of course, mj's album didn't do as well so he complains. it makes sense. for ex. america didn't do MUCH about the holocaust although they knew about it. only until they were hit, they got involved. same thing mj is doing but with the record industry!

invincible sold 7-8 million with one video of him in it!!!
the other video he wasn't in. if that's washed up, i would love to know how it feels like to be in! mariah carey's album has 3 videos and all it sold was 2 million worldwide!!!
if invincible sold just 8 million more, making the total seem like 16 million; it would be a hit. history sold 18 million. (mj has a massive fan base who believe in him. where i live, his songs are played constantly; in stores and around neighborhoods. today i heard the song:scream and shout. and yesterday i heard several songs from almost every album expect bad and history.)

read my posts here. some thing isn't right since only one video was released. and he never made an appearance in the second one. if cry was to be a touchy single about human compassion, i am sure he would have made it like how he did the video for the earth song and he would've promated it.

i don't agree with one of u said how even mr. sony knew invincible couldn't have been made into a success. it is true mj's skin color isn't black but his roots and culture is of an african american. most black ppl. love and respect him since he opened doors for them that previous ppl. couldn't. george michael shited with sony, and sony spend all the money and time on mariah carey. now all they are spending time away from mariah carey to jennifer lopez. it isn't the songs but also some beef that we as bystanders don't know about.

correction:

didn't support Prince? Prince posted an open letter about a wacky dream about her on his website. in all liklihood, she never even heard of his plea for support. that, or she thought he was just insane (and rightly so) for not discussing it like a normal person.

but how will she react to mj's behavior? how come she didn't receive any noticebale problems with her company?

because she doesn't spend her life and career with her head up her ass while a bunch of yes-men lead her down certain paths. she's smart. takes control. oh, yeah, and she sells albums... she's in a position to still exert some influence.
