Kelly Clarkson deserved those grammies! Because that album was excellent for the winner of the glorified star search 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

i wish they would have just done like they did for neely o'hara in valley of the dolls and given her a special custom award just for being her. i could get behind that. apparently, so could the viewers of american idol.

you saying her music isn'y worthy of the award? she won an award over a paul mccartney song produced by nigel godrich (which, on a personal level, i LOVE). she ain't THAT worthy.

I have never heard that song before so I'm clearly not as informed as you I still think her album was fantastic and deserved recognition 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

I have never heard that song before so I'm clearly not as informed as you I still think her album was fantastic and deserved recognition paul's last album was the best thing he's done since the early '70s, at least in my opinion. and the producer was the man who did radiohead's "ok computer", and he did a gorgeous job. in my opinion, paul's last album is like what rick rubin did with johnny cash when they made the 'american recordings' albums. it's just completely revitalized, beautiful music that takes the artist back to the roots of what he does best. see also: loretta lynn's "van lear rose". i think that deserves more recognition than a glorified karaoke contest winner. that said, i will have to temper my indignation by remembering that there's no such thing as crappy music if that music is genuinely appreciated by even one person. so those who think her music is non-crap, well...kudos!

Compare her first album to this one and you will see the reason why someone like myself thinks she deserved to win!! 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

I really like her I think she's managed to shake the American Idol thing and make it in her own right. I find her a helluvalotmore listenable than certain other female stars who seem to be getting awards left and right.

cant one say the same about aretha and ella and holiday? Aretha, Ella, Holliday, Clarkson. Which one is the glaring addition? Now ask your question again.

She co-wrote Because of You and Behind These Hazel Eyes. I'm amazed that she's survived idol for her music. She's great live and I think she's made a really good album.
The Paul McCartney record, it means nothing to him if he wins. He has had every success possible, he couldn't have cared less, why not share the appreciation around.

NOPE I think the point was that Aretha Ella Billie and countless others neither wrote or played a damn thing, so that doesn't necessarily means it's "lowering standards" "in a world full of artists who don't write their own music or play instruments.....Kelly is one of the best.....go Kelly! Keep lowering those standards!" OOh and the whole walmart dig.....that was kinda snobbish don'tcha think
