I tried to respond to this yesterday, and then the org shut down or something and I lost my post. But anyway, I really like it. I haven't heard her first one in ages because it belonged to my ex (and that was LOOONG ago) so I didn't get that in the "divorce". I do think however, that I like They Say I'm Different a little bit more than Nasty Gal. I can't pinpoint exactly why though. They seem pretty similar to me, so yeah it's worth getting. There's a song on there called "The Lone Ranger" that I particularly like. Very sensual. It is of course awesomely funky. I'm listening to very...well, some people don't think music should be labeled gay so I'll say "brokeback" collections (one is by a gay/tranvesite artist, the other by a possible gay).
The Best Of Kim Carnes (I tried to hold out for a more full collection, but this one was so cheap!...The CD is kind of pitifu, one of those ten best series that you can find in the bargin bin...No writing or producer credits!). Sylvester "Rock The Box" The title track is far and away the highlight and the one song that feels the most fitting with the time it was recorded...I could imagine a breakdance video for this song....the others feel more discoy and out of date for songs recorded in the mid eighties...not bad overall. I got it for a great price on Ebay...The shipping cost more than the CD...And it has liner notes and even thank yous).

This is Sergio Mendes' Santana (Supernatural) style album. Theres a who's who of soul, samba and hip hop artists on it, including John Legend, Stevie Wonder, India Arie, Erykah Badu, the Black Eyed Peas, Jill Scott, the Maogani Quartet and many more. Its a must have! The only parts that I dont like as much are when Will I AM barks his lyrics through the incredible arrangements of Mr Mendes. Theres a little bit too much of that on an otherwise appealing disc.
