Fiona...latest numbers? anyone know how many copies "extraordinary machine" has sold thus far in the US? worldwide? was all the drama worth it for Sony in the end? i don't see much promotion and ZERO radio airplay so it's prolly done most of what it will do by now... I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

I don't know the count, but I am sure it didn't generate the sales it deserved. a psychotic is someone who just figured out what's going on

Respectfully, I disagree.
The arrangements on this record are way more irritating than lovely to me. I think Sony/Fiona was right to shelve this one for so long - the songs just aren't that great. Here's what's (sort of) good about EM: 'Extraordinary Machine' is wonderful, I love it. 'Get Him Back' could be really good if it wasn't just a carnival ride of mishmash sounds. 'O' Sailor' comes closest to what made her previous two albums so great. But it's a little overboard (no pun intended) After that, I cannot hear any more of this disc - even the new Stones disc is more listenable at this point. That's not a compliment to either. Please try again soon, Fiona....I miss you. (And bring Jon Brion and Matt Chamberlain with you)

I love her first 2 cd's... I hate this one

I work on remastering the so-called Jon Brion version in my spare time, which was really apparently just a basic mixdown but kicks the ass of the retail, twice.
It is still a MUCH BETTER ALBUM. The released EM was a mistake. You can't improve on those great canvasses she cooks up with Jon. She has a real "band vibe" with him... a real "sound" that got killed with these inferior retail productions.
