Face it. Michael Jackson is a joke. And a pretty sad on at that. He destroyed himself. Plastic surgery and pedophilia are his own doing, not anyone else's.
At least Prince is a gifted musician who's doing for self. To see him at the Celebration was a revelation. Talent like that can't be controlled by a record company.
MJ, on the other hand, seems like a paler version of La Toya. Nothing much more to offer and zero credibility.

That's your "opinion" and u are "entitled" to it...I however, do not feel this way, and neither do "alot" of Michael's friends, fans, and supporters. Did u happen 2 see Tom Cruise in "The outsiders" hmmm seems like he had quite a bit of plastic surgery done.

like I stated before, Michael isn't from this planet, and stated that very "boldly" in his tv guide interview...if u trip off the way Michael looks, wait until the galaxy opens up 2 u, are u going 2 judge "others" by their appearance...Michael hardly looks strange in comparison to some of our other galactic family..LOL..

pedophile...hmmm, well I guess we'll never "know" cuz his accusers took the money and ran!! But again, that's between Michael and God. Michael is a gifted performer in his own right...what is with u people??? Does Prince have the market cornered on what is "acceptable"??? Ask Prince who he watched on t.v when he was a little boy..

If MJ wasn't sooo EGO driven and has to be like "LOOK AT ME..LOOK AT ME" every other day

He could learn from Prince:

1)do your own thing..

2) don't talk shit about the Record Companies because THEY will spend money to slam you or just screw with you when you are releasing an album

3)produce & DISTRIBUTE your own music ($9 bucks and album sound better then 56 cents - $1.25 per sale??)

4)*** WITH MJ's name and he can pay a few bucks for promotion MJ can sell atleast 800,000-1.2 Million copies INDEPENDENT! which at $9 bucks his cut PER ( he would be RICHER then ever! Like $60- $100 Million in his pocket!!! DUH??? instead of having to SELL half his Beatles Music to Sony for money..)

BUT with MJ it is ALL "look at me.. kiss my ass" kind of PR and attitude ( this is the ONLY thing on his mind???)

Prince is making a GREAT Livning selling 120,000 albums everytime out which his cut is $1 Million - $1.2 Million PER Ablum he takes HOME!!!..and having a nice fun, safe, caring life with his wife & friends.. NOT caring or worrying what WE his fans or The Media thinks? What could be any better??

MJ at this period in your life 44 years old.. WHAT DRIVES you to have strangers kiss your ass? point their fingers at you in a loving way or a joking/making fun way?? What in your life is sooo bad you NEED love from perfect strangers? GROW UP & DROP THE EGO

BOY this is ONLY the second day on this Topic I can NOT WAIT until he Press Releases another DUMB thing in a couple weeks from now.

Wow, that was quite a mouth full...You know I find it funny...Here I was in the Pacific Northwest, and I called down to Atlanta (predominantly black city) and said 2 my friend Sean "Hey u gotta get Michael's new album" to which he replied "u are about the 100th person who has said that to me in the last few weeks...HMMM

U have 2 understand that Michael, like Prince has a core group of people who will "always" Love him and support him. Does it really matter that Michael hasn't lived up to the public's expectations since the 80's? NO what matters is when u look at the entire span of the man's career, and the vanguard moves that he did make..Ask many of the successful artists 2day who their role model was, and they will say Michael Jackson...Destiny's Child gives him his props.

...Black people have an inherent gene within them that helps them to die and regenerate, and we haven't seen the last of Micheal yet, or the best...

.And oh, by the way...Did u know that before Michael Jackson, MTV wasn't playing black artists, if not 4 Michael taking a stand with MTV we would have missed out on alot of talent being show on MTV,including our beloved prince. (check the vh=1 archives)

And one more thing The record industry "itself" is failing, consumers aren't buying albums period!!! Even the success of Eminem's top selling album isn't pulling the industry out of a rut...And, if I had been allowed 2 choreograph the video for 2000 watts...u all would be running 2 the "wrecka stow" to get your "michael jackson on"...Stay Tuned...

I don't know what you're babbling about. All I did was post the text of an article from the link given above. I couldn't care less about Michael, and it's really a waste of energy to try and argue with Prince fans on a Prince site about how so great Michael is.

Seems 2 me that u are on the "look at me, look at me, ego trip." Michael Jackson is a very humble man. When was the last time u visited children in the hospital?

Michael is the force that many artists immulate. I love Prince, yes, but I find it funny that u are "slamming" one of the forces that inspired prince 2 be all that he can be.

Michael was under a CON-tract just like Prince. Now he can be independent and do what he "chooses". Let us also remember that Michael has produced some very successful acts.

I'm sure Michael isn't "broke" not in the least bit, and what is money, really? to a man who knows God...

I'm tired of injustice, I'm tired of the schemes, I'm kinda disgusted so what does it mean dammit, your kicking me down, I gotta get up, as jacked as it sounds, the whole system sucks dammit...Stop pressurin' me stop pressurin' me, stop fuckin' with me, makes me wanna Scream!!!

(Sincerely, Michael Jackson)

Well the article u posted was really one sided, and very inflammatory. If u don't care one way or the other, why did u take the time to post the article? And I'm not arguing w/ Prince fans about Michael. I'm a "prince" fan. But I also don't like people disrespecting a legendary artist, and If I have to post until this thread blows up, then I will...Maybe it feels good 2 me 2 defend Michael's honor.just as good as if feels 2 people to tear him down.

There was nothing inflammatory about it, you're just a thin-skinned Michael Jackson fan who doesn't want a shred of anything critical said about him.

Man MUST I be the bad guy for NEW MJ Dumb move of the day.. well (July 7,2002) On Action News they had a very quick story about what MJ "press released today" (or could be part of the speech before.. but it caught my eye)

http://www.woio.com/Globa...d12SGM9ydq

here is the out take:

"Says Jackson, "they steal, they cheat, they do everything they can."

He named Sony Music chairman Tommy Mottola as an example.

He says Mottola is "a racist, and he's very, very, very devilish." Jackson accused Mottola of using "the n-word" when discussing an unidentified black Sony artist."

This is CRAZY

Ok lets go over this step by step:

1) Paul Mc Cartney said in a 2 Part Interview with Howard Stern ..which you can see on E! Show.. (Paul ON Michael Jackson & "His Music MJ owes").. "Hey I told him you can make money by buying up Record Publishing.. MJ said to me "I am going to buy yours!" Paul said "What???" ..."Hey he had the money, god bless him".. *BUT what I do have a PROBLEM with is this Michael.."YOU own this company.. I am working for, so I am working for you.. and don't you think a worker after 35 years.. who has done sooo well for this company you own The Beatles.. by writing you songs, touring & just basically making you money.. Don't you Think I deserve a Raise??" Paul said MJ said to him " NO!! that Business".. "So you know what he doesn't answer my letters anymore and we don't have a good relationship anymore" Paul said.

* NOW MJ is crying about "Artist Rights" BUT the artists he owns The Beatles/Paul Mc Cartney.. He Tells Them "NO Its Business" (when it comes to Raises)... WHY is it DIFFERENT with HIS Music?? HIS Career??

2) Acussing Tommy Mottla of being a RACIST?? Using "N Bombs on people".. IS CRAZY and just disgusting that MJ is so DESPERATE to bring this OUT to the Press??

* For one thing Tommy was married to Mariah Carey (half black/half white) Dates Jennifer Lopez..and has been known to ONLY date Black & Latina women.

even so no one knows everyone behind close doors (this is true) BUT it sounds sure like MJ is trying to wrap himself in the race issues?? Also "try" to destroy a guys good name???!!! Hey let me stop talking I HAVE NO IDEA what the hell this guys problem is?? TO BRING THIS out to the Public with Al Sharpton/Johnnie Cochran.. It just sounds VEEERY FISHY.. and more or less VERY DESPERATE & disgusting!!

3) Isn't Michael Jackson the same guy on his History Album .. was saying "JEW Me Sue Me".. "Kick Me KIKE Me".. also Dropping "N Words" other Racial Slurs also??

What a out of control scum bag to BLAME Tommy for the public thinking you SUCK/your Over!! How is a man "Devilish" to GIVE you $50 Million PLUS to make Videos,Pay Producers,Get you Interviews,Magazines,Press Albums & Put on TV Specials??

This dude is FREE FALLING down "The Show Biz Ladder".. not that much with his lack of talent BUT HIS MOUTH.

* I can't wait until SONY starts "leaking" stories about him..

MJ has tops $700 Million
SONY has 20 TIMES that much

Sony will win this battle of words.

Poor pitiful Jacko. Where was MJ when Texan Henry Byrd was beaten, tied to back of a pickup truck and drug to his death? Where was MJ when so many blacks were oppressed and couldn't excercise their constitutional right to vote in Florida in Nov. 2000? How dare he compare this to all the true victims of racism throughout history.

The ONLY thing the Music Industry sees is GREEN!! they can care less..

Jacko makes it sound like Hall & Oats, Pearl Jam, Kenny Rogers & Korn ALL have Billions!!! and EVERY Black or Female Artist is BROKE and make PENNYS??

PLEASE..

EVERY Musican makes NO money

* Why dont we ask Michael Jackson what he thinks about "His Father Figure" Barry Gordy Head of Motown

Gordy SCREWED everyone of his Motown Artist.. the same way every other record label has done to their artist!

*There is Tons & Tons of Books by old Motown acts complaining about being totally RAPED by Motown,, out of money, publishing, ect.

He left him because of this and went to Epic! Him & his Brothers became "The Jacksons"..

* white artists as well that are not fully paid what they should be. Do a search on Courtney Love and you will see her battles with Geffen and trying to get all (not just white) artsist their fair share.

What is the core of this story is Jacko's claiming "racism."

Did this racism hinder him from making hundreds of millions of dollars in the 80s as well sweetheart deals with Pepsi. Did "racism" play a role in his purchasing the Beatles catalogue and building an amusement park in his backyard???

NOPE!

His marrying 2 white women as well as adopting 2 white children. That, on top of all the plastic surgery to make himself appear more caucasian makes it ludicrous that he would even attempt to play the race card.

Maybe Sony isn't so against promoting black artists as they are filthy child molesters.

What the point is: is that he lives an extravagant lifestyle... (the ranch alone costs several thousand a day to operate)... along with paying off the families of the children you molested, legal troubles, numerous surgeries, etc... What he cannot accept is that he is over and can no longer live his lifestyle, so he tries to triviliaze the true victims of racism !!!

MJ is a Real Moron!!

Actually,Quincy doesn't really produce albums by ANY artists these days.I could be wrong, but I think the last album he produced for an artist was MJ's 'Bad' and that was in 1987! His record label (Qwest Records) folded last year, and he takes forever to release his OWN albums. But he and MJ are still close. There are rumors that the two of them plan to start a new label together.

Al Sharpton, Black Sony Artist & Micheal Jackson Producers

ALL Distance themselves from Jackson & his Comments about Sony & Tommy Matolla

http://story.news.yahoo.c...9___9___9_

You know your done when Al Sharpton doesn't want to been seen or known to be around you.. and your views

JACKO GOT OFF-TRACKO, REV. AL SAYS
Mon Jul 8, 3:15 AM ET
By JEANE MacINTOSH

The Rev. Al Sharpton yesterday said Wacko Jacko's bizarre attack on Tommy Mottola was unfair and unfounded, and called the Sony honcho a staunch supporter of black artists.

"I have known Tommy for 15 or 20 years, and never once have I known him to say or do anything that would be considered racist," Sharpton said.

An uneasy Sharpton admitted he was "taken aback and surprised" by the verbal assault, which started during a press conference with the rotund reverend and lasted throughout the Gloved One's crosstown tour on Saturday.

"In fact, he's always been supportive of the black music industry," Sharpton said. "He was the first record executive to step up and offer to help us with respect to corporate accountability, when it comes to black music issues."

At times during his anti-Mottola diatribe, Jackson held up posters of Mottola with horns, and called him "devilish." He also accused Mottola of describing another black artist with a racial slur.

Sharpton said he was "inundated" with calls yesterday from top African-American artists and producers furious over Jackson's nasty personal attack on the Sony heavyweight.

"To call Tommy Mottola a racist is just ridiculous - he's one of the biggest supporters of black music I know," said producer Steve Stout, one of several angry black execs who rang Sharpton.

Sharpton stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Jackson at the reverend's Harlem headquarters Saturday, getting a big smooch from the one-time King of Pop as he started his crosstown tour to denounce Mottola and Sony.

Along his Harlem-East Village-Midtown route, Jackson also lashed out at the industry at large, saying execs "really do conspire against black artists."

"I didn't know that Michael planned to personally attack Tommy - but nobody tells Michael Jackson what to do," Sharpton said, adding that he "stands firmly behind" Jackson's view on the industry overall.

The Jackson spectacle was timed to coincide with Sharpton's big racism-in-music "summit" tomorrow. Sharpton says he intends to keep "Michael's personal issues with Tommy" separate from the "broader industry issues" at the meeting.

But Jackson's personal swipes may have torpedoed any constructive developments, as black artists line up to defend the Sony boss.

"Michael Jackson playing the race card is a cop-out - a last-resort move by a guy who is frustrated that his big project didn't work," said Courey Rooney, the African-American producer of Jennifer Lopez, Destiny's Child and Marc Anthony.

As a kid, Rooney said, he "idolized Jackson" and worked on part of Jackson's failed "Invincible" album - the record at the heart of Jackson's beef with Sony. The record company poured $60 million into producing and promoting it, but Jackson contends the company didn't back him enough.

Rooney believes Michael Jackson's checkered past - especially his pedophilia charges - played a huge role in the record's lousy sales.

SecretO

Michael Jackson is a self-serving hypocrite. He's only using Artists Rights issues to try to redeem himself, because of his commercially disappointing album. If "Invincible" would have done well, he'd never would have publicly opened his damned mouth in protest of anything remotely related to artist/record companies relationships...

MJ wouldn't have needed to protest if Sony treated the release/promotion of Invincible fairly but they didn't. so of course he's going to defend himself now why should the so-called failure of Invincible be placed soley on MJ if it was Sony's conduct which worsened the situation. . Im sure there are more stylish and tacful ways of MJ attacking Sony/Tommy as the way he's (MJ) handled things so far does give the impression of sheer desperation rather than a structured, meaningful battle for artists/entertainers (etc) rights.
I would have expected Prince fans to be kinda supportive of MJ as he's giving Prince's former quest for 'Emancipation' more publicity. The 'bad' thing MJ had done IMO was not give Prince's struggle any recognition, but his otherwise I dont see why theres so much hate between some Prince fans and MJ.

The 'bad' thing MJ had done IMO was not give Prince's struggle any recognition, but his otherwise I dont see why theres so much hate between some Prince fans and MJ.

maybe the recognition wasn't given since prince was never a sony mate as mariah carey and george michael was. and the fact that mariah, and george want a career which is a public success while prince doesn't care about the charts will stand in the way for him receiving recognition.

I thought MJ's battle concerened *all* artists not just Sony artists, but yeah your reasons seem pretty good, but anyway I personally don't see recognition as as issue but i was trying to suggest why some other ppl on this board were so pissed at MJs actions but i didnt quite phrase it right.

Same can be said for Prince. Now let's just be thankful they are both selling less and the shit is finally hitting the fan, eh. smile
