Janet Jackson is 20 years old!

Jermaine Dupri has told the New York Times that Janet's new album
will be titled "20 Years Old."

"Her album is going to be called '20 Years Old,'" he says, "because
that's how old she feels, and that's how long it's been since she put
out 'Control.'"

He also dismissed talk of Janet's recent weight gain. "She gained
that weight for an indie role," he said. When pushed for more details
about that role, he said that she was supposed to play a mother in
the Deep South in a film that fell through.

Although the article does not mention the film by name, it is assumed
that the film being referred to is "Tennessee." It had been
previously announced late last year that Janet would be starring in
this film with Macaulay Culkin and Martin Henderson.

The album is due out this summer.

"20 Years Later" would be a much better title. Or even simply "20" would be fine. But "20 Years Old" not only sounds stupid but looks like a pathetic attempt to compete with the young kids out there.

Janet, if you're reading this, tell that troll to stick that title up his ass. It's awful!

I admit I don't like the title but you can't judge an album by it's title I mean look at Mariah when I first heard her cd was going to be called the Emancipation of Mimi I was like eek but the cd turned out decent and that's all that matters is the music is good.
PS AND THIS IT'T SET IN STONE THEY COULD JUST BE JUST TROWING AROUND NAMES

I used to respect Janet for her album titles and the concepts behind the albums...

she started slipping with All For You
I was very uncomfortable buying an album called Damita Jo
and now this neutral

Plus with her recent material, maybe she should insert "A 40-year-old trying to be..." at the beginning

My God, that's an awful title. She's getting worse than Mariah in that department.

Janet....It's not to late to dump JD from this project and your life....

My prediction is that the album will be a best seller but probably not a fan favorite (might be slightly be better perceived by fans than her last two just because of the success).

spit Who the hell does he think he's fooling? The woman has done this weight gain/weight loss thing for years. And since when does she need to gain weight to play a southern mother -- like there are no slim southern women.

Too much Hater-aid up on here. I happen to like the title "20 yrs. old"

Simple yet relevant.

Janet, no doubt is gonna CONTROL 06.

"This is a story about control, my control
Control of what I say, control of what I do
And this time I’m gonna do it my way
I hope you enjoy this as much as I do
Are we ready? I am? cause it’s all about control
And I’ve got lots of it"

I think the mayor of Munchin land will be the one who will sadly control Janet on this album....When I heard he was involved, I knew this album would suck!
