Coolest MOST CRE8ive thing uve dun wit the pause/record button on yo tape player? long before digital home music mixers on computers and all that good shit all we had was rhythmic snese and great reflexes in our fingers to come up wit some great home- made mix tapes. Im talking about sitting waiting to drop a new song in on the one or for the real crafty thinkers blend two different songs together.
my mom bought me a kareoke machine on my 5th birthday {1992) by the next summer i learned how to loop parts i wanted, fade, blend, and whatever else there was to do. what is your proudest moment on your homemade tape is basically what im asking

or shit one of the funniest.
years ago to annoy my older sister i looped that FLLLLLYYY in R KELLY'S I BELIEVE I CAN FLY { u know that long note towards the end] i looped it having him holding that note for a record 28 minutes. it took over an hour to do, but my sister going crazy made it worth it.

When Madonna's Secret came out, a friend of mine cut and pasted the "Until you shared your...secret with me" with the "happiness lies in your own hands" bit and came up with:
Until you shared your...penis (happiness) with me!

When I was about 6 I had one of those small cassette recorders that was more like a massive dictaphone. I played Kylie's 'I Should Be So Lucky' through the big speakers just the for intro, middle break and outtro, and recorded me singing the verses in between
I found the tape about 5 years ago but I threw it away out of embarassement.

I used to make beats on my dual cassette player, usually alternating between some sort of drum break, and another song for the hook.
But by the end (1993) I was pausing drums up into 8th notes and layering music on top.
