NEW YORK // A star-studded music video shoot was interrupted by gunfire that killed a bodyguard for rapper Busta Rhymes, police said.

Missy Elliot, Busta Rhymes and G-Unit members including Lloyd Banks were scheduled to be filming on a ninth-floor soundstage when violence erupted outside the Brooklyn building early Sunday, said police Sgt. Kevin Farrell.

Israel Ramirez, 29, was killed with a single shot to the chest, Farrell said.

Some 500 people were gathered for the Busta Rhymes video, and it was unclear how many had been outside when shots were fired.

Investigators took possession of a nearby parked car that was hit by the gunfire. They were still trying to determine early Monday what led to the violence, Farrell said.

I wish i could say that i was surprised but Im not. Now i know there will be people that say "oh u just focus on the Bad stuff" well crime is crime plain and simple. In this case i think Busta is 2 blame, Busta has alot of friends in Brooklyn so Im sure this Bodyguard was from Brooklyn, and Im sure he was hired by Busta, and 90% of the time alot of Rappers feel the need to give these Bodyguard spots to people with a background of Violence, or gangs. So im guesssing that is where this stemmed from. It is horrible that someone is dead from something like this, but that is the world that surrounds alot of Rappers and there camps, as much as people want to deny that, the violence is there, alot, im sure there is tons of it that isnt reported.

I hate to say it, But this does not surprise me in the least. Many of these young cats see G-Unit as gang members rather then some brothers trying to sell cd's. Yes I know it was Busta Rhymes bodyguard who was killed, But based on G-Unit's history with these kind of things, it sounds like Busta's man was caught in the crossfire (I could be wrong though) These kind of things must stop.

I think it just has to do with spoiled people. We don't seem to value life anymore. If we were in a war torn country people would be crying on t.v. asking for help from the U.S.A. and praying to God that they live through the night.

This music needs stop being marketed as if it is ACCEPTABLE by the rest of society, because 90% of what these gangsters say is reprehensible.

Why does acting like a complete dickhead make you lots of money?

Why does being affiliated with gangs make you top the charts and be able to star in a Hollywood movie?

HOW are the American record companies allowed to force this shit upon people in an attractive manner to proliferate this as if it were a positive image for youth? Let alone suggesting it is MUSIC.

This is not comparable to Beatlemania or any other phenomenon which created mass appeal. There was MUSIC, love and scarcely a negative issue involved back then. Now it is incredibly simple drum machine patterns and low-brow lifestyle adverstising which get people famous while there must be MILLIONS of incredibly talented musicians out there struggling when they should be tearing it up the way the greats did when THEY were first discovered. This stagnance and claustrophobic sheen is KILLING the truly talented and bringing about nothing but stupidity.
