I remember the '87 Grammy performance of this song. That was a great, very high-energy performance. I was lucky enough to find a dubbed VHS copy of it and it completely wows you. I'm amazed at the stamina Janet had to pull that off. She was doing flips, dancing her a** off, leading her band. Man, it was crazy.

Janet: He stood me up AGAIN...

Female: AGAIN?

Janet: Umm-hmm.

Female: Well, what's up with this guy? Do you really like him that much?

Janet: Yes, honey, I heart him. He is FINE. He does a lot of nice things for me.

Female: I know he *used* to do nice stuff for you... but WHAT HAS HE DONE FOR YOU LATE-LY?

Are there any plans for an anniversary release? With remastered remixes and b-sides. I'd love to get my hands on that Nasty Cool Summer Remix Part II.

So far, no real talk of a remastered Control package has surface on Janet's public relations front. Most of the press and energy is largely focused on her upcoming studio album, which is now slated for a summer 2006 release.

As far as the Cool Summer mix of Nasty, it is available on the Control: The Remixes CD [IMPORT] (1987, A&M Records).

I will definitely keep you posted if anything on Control arises.

I Like every song, And I do mean EVERY song on the Control album. Not only was it Janets break out record. But it was Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis's crowning moment as producers.

Love the song and video. I especially love Paula lip synching the spoken intro. lol It took me forever to understand the "Used to be a time when you would pamper me" line. For the longest time, I thought she was saying "Used to be a time when you would pimp for me."

The dub version of "What Have You Done For Me Lately" is killer. I used make my own super remix combining it and the regular extended version with the pause button on my cassette deck.

Did she really say that? I know she lists wokring with Jan on her official website, but I've never heard of her making statements like that.
