Janet - one that combines the A&M and Virgin years. I'm currently working on a comp that consists of 7" edits of every Janet single released anywhere in the world (or at least according to voicescarry). It adds up to about 4 hours.

omg will you sell me a copy? nah for real.

Some of the edits have been released on vinyl only and I don't have the software yet to convert vinyl to digital files so these comps will be cassettes.

Look closer....

http://www.amazon.com/gp/...oding=UTF8

It's an import but at $16.98, it's at a domestic price.

One artists that gets mentioned here frequently that seemed to fade away from the business without getting a proper collection...Karyn White. I wonder if it will ever happen.

As a fan, yeah I've made my own. But from a commercial standpoint, I don't think Common is due just yet... I think if his next album does well it's possible.

Missy is gonna be overdue for one soon. So Addictive is the only album I had to purchase. If she had a greatest hits, that would be so copped.

I'd add Mary J to your list too, but hers is coming later this year.

BTW, what would be on Sheila's disc? Glamorous Life, Love Bizarre, Belle of St. Mark, Hold Me, Koo Koo and Sex Cymbal are a given. How else would you flesh it out.

I agree that Janet needs one for the Virgin years. I think Design of A Decade pretty much sums up Janet's A&M years perfectly... unless they go back and add stuff from Dream Street. Combining the years would be overkill, in my opinion.

Janet's first two albums were completely ignored on the 'Design Of A Decade' CD (the U.S. release anyway) so I disagree that it was a good representation of her time at A&M. I understand why those early tracks were left off--after all, the album was named 'Design Of A Decade' and not 'Design Of A Decade-and-a-half'.

Just gonna say that!

I agree. nod The Whole Story doesn't really tell the, er, whole story does it?

If EMI are clever, they'll release it after they've finished promoting 'Aerial', with a dvd of all her videos. drool

Any news on when the new single will be released?

I don't think The Whole Story was ever reissued...

At this point it would be hard to do a single Kate best-of, but maybe it would look like this:

1. Wuthering Heights
2. The Man With The Child In His Eyes
3. Wow
4. Babooshka
5. Army Dreamers
6. Breathing
7. Sat In Your Lap
8. There Goes a Tenner
9. Running Up That Hill
10. Hounds of Love
11. Cloudbusting
12. The Big Sky
13. Experiment IV
14. This Woman’s Work
15. Love and Anger
16. The Sensual World
17. Rubberband Girl
18. Eat The Music
19. And So Is Love
20. King Of The Mountain

I think a 2-disc set would probably be needed to do her any justice. There are several singles missing from this tracklisting. And a 2-disc set would allow the inclusion of other interesting and key tracks as well.

Great list biggrin
I`ve been thinking about getting the "This woman`s work" cd box, but i hear her albums are getting re-released, and maybe they have some good bonus tracks, so i`d have to buy them all.

About the reissue of the compilation, i remember buying my copy after seeing a commercial on a norwegian channel 2 or 3 years ago confuse

That is a fantastic list! nod

Yeah, I think EMI would have to release a 2cd compilation to do her justice. Which is why, if they want to give her a complete career retrospective, it's probably best to do it after this album.

I've heard rumours of remasters appearing but that's all - rumours. sigh AnckSuNamun or Cloudbuster probably know more than me. But if they do appear - and they're anything like the 'Hounds Of Love' reissue - hopefully they'll include bonus tracks.
