My dad says when Mick came out, he (my dad) was appalled at how feminine Mick was...prancing about, his movements, his features. He actually found it shocking. We're used to androgyny nowadays, but it wasn't the same back then. Part of his sex appeal is his femininity, I must say, though I can see why some wouldn't find it so because of that... It's the whole package that makes him hot. Mick's kinda femme and that is AWESOME. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

He basically said he is a gimmick and all he does is "Dance around like a fag on stage" I think the homophobic term was a little bit too much in reference & could have been ommitted, but his opinion on being a gimmick and dancing was dead on it... This gimmick idea is a bit ridiculous when we're talking about the Rolling Stones. It's called playing to your audience, feeding the energy back and forth, and being a performer. I went to their show wanting to see the band as a whole and dig into the music and was rather astonished by the way Mick held it all together, like a vortex moving about the stage. Without him, they'd have the music, but what would the shows be like? I actually found it difficult to look away from him and something about the way he worked the audience struck me as very generous and authentic, especially after all these years.

I'm reading Bebe Buell's book right now and I swear on EVERY SINGLE PAGE she has to point out how beautiful she was and how everyone wanted to be like her. And how she was a MUSE to the rock world! I'm not even kidding. I mean, granted she was really beautiful, but no need to get such a big head about it. Thank God Liv doesn't seem to be that way. The book includes "over 100 photos!" (all of Bebe of course) interspersed within all the text. Oh, and to keep this on-topic, she did fuck Mick. And Jimmy Page too. And of course Stephen Tyler. And Todd Rundgren. And just about every other rock star in the world apparently. True, she did anyone that was anyone - and that was her claim to fame. But I have to say, BB was beautiful, extremely voluptuous and charismatic. She knew how to command attraction. Men were completely defenseless around her. I hung with her for awhile (one of the artists I was touring was her flavor of the month). I remember her 23rd birthday party. Some club NYC. I made the entrance with her. When we walked into this club, which was full and buzzin - all came to a halted hush. What a rush, litereally. Swarming, flash bulbs...it was like Marilyn had just entered the room. Did an Annie L photo shoot with her too...and she knew how to work a camera. And Mick WAS sexy...and shup about Keith, my guitar hero. No matter what he looks like,he's obviously healthy, he is happy and he still makes serious sense. Of course she was beautiful, there's no doubt about that. And I suppose there WOULD be a hush in the crowd when the birthday girl walked in. It was her party of course. Cool story though. Her book is very interesting reading though because it's all gossip. She just comes across as too conceited IMO. I mean, she claims to have almost single-handedly influenced Todd Rundgren AND Bowie's (and others as well) whole style and look, and their taste in music. I'm only on the 3rd chapter so far, so we'll see what else she says. "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven

but i've always thought that the stones would make a lovely totem pole and the older they get, the better suited for it, imo. Prince #MUSICIANICONLEGEND
