I heard she`s working on a new album woot!
Wouldn`t it be great if we could have a new box set, filled with outtakes (there`s plenty...) and different live songs (mainly from the 70s) drool

Aretha can sing. There is no question about it. Anybody remember a few years ago when she sung that opera song and tore it up? People were pleasantly shocked. They forget how bad she is. She needs a good song writer to come up with some songs for her. Today's writers primarily write jingles to accommodate the abysmal talent of the artists singing them..

I missed her opening. neutral My mom absolutely had to call and talk. "What are you doing?"

"I'm trying to watch the Super Bowl, mom."

"Why?" 40 minutes later, I got off the phone.

pissed

During the 70s, she recorded some interesting covers that didn`t get released:

- My way (Frank Sinatra)
- At last (Etta James)
- Lean on me (Melba Moore)

yeah the national anthem was cool.....but when they said Dr. John was performing I thought he was gonna actually sing something. He just played the piano for Aretha and Aaron. Hey who saw Stevie out there too.....of course it couldn't be just Stevie. Joss Stone and John Legend had to get their say in it. lol

I was on the floor dying laughing at the Aaron Neville parody. They should do him more often on the show. I think that was the only thing I really laughed at...

That was the only skit on SNL this weekend that actually made me laugh. Unfortunately, it was all I could think about as I watched the real Aaron sing the national anthem before the Super Bowl. But back to Aretha...
