Mike Patton's Peeping Tom lp feat Norah Jones/Kool Keith/Massive Attack

Finally it's done! This is the album for May not Teeemar cool
Oh man.. this is the album Patton heads have been waiting for.

from Billboard:

February 21, 2006, 4:10 PM ET
Jonathan Cohen, N.Y.
As tipped here last month, Mike Patton has completed work on his long-gestating self-titled album as Peeping Tom, which will be released May 30 on his own Ipecac label. The set was pieced together by swapping song files through the mail with collaborators like Norah Jones ("Sucker"), Kool Keith ("Getaway") and Massive Attack "Kill the DJ."

Among the other guests on "Peeping Tom" as Dan "The Automator" Nakamura, Amon Tobin, Dub Trio, Bebel Gilberto, Dos One and members of the Melvins.

"I don't know how many songs he recorded -- an insane amount, like 30," Melvins drummer Dale Crover told Billboard.com recently. "There's a lot of layered vocals -- like Beach Boys style. Some hip hop-y sort of beats. It's weird. It's drum machine mixed with live drums mixed with crazy samples, but then there's guitar and bass."

"I don't listen to the radio, but if I did, this is what I'd want it to sound like," Patton says of the project. "This is my version of pop music. In way, this is an exercise for me: taking all these things I've learned over the years and putting them into a pop format."

Patton is hoping to mount a tour in support of "Peeping Tom" but details have yet to be announced. As previously reported, he can be heard guesting on the track "Not Alone" on Dub Trio's new album, "New Heavy," due May 23 via ROIR.

How the hell did Norah Jones end up on this project? hmm

Looking forward to hearing this! The title is sooo Kool Keith. i can't believe he was able to get The Automator and Kool Keith on the same project. hopefully, they paired up for that Dr. Octagon sound! headbang

Cuz Norah is probably weirdo at heart. She did work with Andre 3000.
I bet Kool Keith and Mike Patton did just one track together.

Originally the album was supposed to be Massive Attack collab project but Mike said they took too much time sending back the tapes. There's also a good story about Durst hearing the tapes for Peeping Tom and Patton was skeptical about giving them to interscope.

lol

Don't hold your breath... Last asked about Bungle playing together again Patton replied something like, "It could happen, but I won't singing for them." Patton has said in a few interviews that for both FNM and Bungle there are burnt bridges between some of the parties, and both bands are to be left in the past. Looking forward to the Peeping Tom disc...

cool

I use to love Mike Patton until I found out he was a shit terrorist (i.e. putting his feces in places like blow dryers and smearing it around hotel rooms. source: wikipedia, the internet encyclopedia). I guess I still like his music but doing that with your bowel movemnets ain't cool.
