Any KC & The Sunshine Band Fans Out There?

"That's The way I Like It" "Boogie Shoes" Keep It Comin Love" Do You Wanna Go Party" and my personal favorite. I'm Your Boogie Man". I can remember watching them on tv and seeing that funky horn section tearing it up. And those brothers could dance and play. KC probably made the best roller skating music ever. Thoughts anyone?

Another nice KC song was "Please Don't Go", that I believe came out around 1980. That one is my personal favorite, even though it's more of a song to slow dance to, it wouldn't work well for a roller skating song. giggle
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Oh yeah. I remember that one too. I suppose the only way to make that one work on the roller rink is to play it as a couples only song huh?

Also great:

"I Like to Do It"
"That's the Way I Like It"
"Shake Your Booty"
"Keep It Coming Love" (Don't Stop!)

Yeah I do. That was KC solo without the Sunshine band. Nice tune but his career was pretty much done by then.

They used to play that one in the skating rinks all the time in my area at the time of the night when they had a "couples only skate". Another one was "Yes I'm Ready".

Hell yeah. I had forgotten about it until I heard it on either a Target or Old Navy commercial. I had to have it and had a friend make me a copy of his.

I've played Get Down Tonight and That's the Way in cover bands back in the day.
They were always fun tunes.

You can add to the list Rock Your Baby (George McCrae), Rockin' Chair (Gwen McCrae) and Dance Across The Floor (Jimmy "Bo" Horne). These were basically KC tunes with different lead singers.

Blowfly says he wrote "Rockin Chair" in the 60s.

Yes he did.
Probably made the comment as Clarence Reid though if he wanted credibility. wink

The whole Dance Across the Floor album is fun. Except for the vocal style, it is exactly like a KC & The Sunshine Band album. His presence on the album is obvious through and through. That's not a bad thing at all, just very noticable.

I like his style....He has a signature sound which came accross in his productions. I think my favorites are "Keep In Coming" and "Give It Up"...I like those a lot better than probably the better known "Shake Your Booty" and "That's The Way I Like It".

I liked Give It Up when I was younger, but skip it over now. The liner notes on my KC greatest hits mentiones that some people mistaken thought the lyrics to the former tune were, "Keep it common law, keep it common law." lol

some of my favorite songs by them:

"Sound Your Funky Horn" (1974)
"That's The Way I Like It" (1975)
"Boogie Shoes" (1975)
"Keep It Comin' Love" (1977)
"I Like To Do It" (1976)
"Wrap Your Arms Around Me" (1976)
"I'm Your Boogie Man" (1977)
"Do You Wanna Go Party" (1979)

I have several of their old albums, plus that 1974 "Live" video that someone mentioned. In the 70s,these guys were unstoppable!
