Thoughts on a new MJ album

This is something I did for a MJ board mjno, I guess they sent all the members this sort of questionaire. I didn't go into too much detail because its not like my opinion really matters lol. Not very well written but you'll get the point.

Your Name? Dee Dee

Location(Region)? USA

Age? 17

Email(optional)? delores856@hotmail.com

Album title? MICHAEL

What style of music? R&B, Dance

Proposed collaborators? (if any) Janet, his brothers, Floetry *they wrote Butterflies*

Producers? Kanye West, Pharell, maybe Quincy.

I think the approach should be that he's still Michael Jackson. Leave behind the whole KOP thing, people know he's great whether they like him or not so there's really no need to keep shoving it in peoples faces. He needs softer songs. I think he should focus more on r&b love songs. And please no songs about saving the world, leave that with the Katrina single. It would be especially nice without dissing the press songs. No rap whatsoever. I know there probably is gonna be some but since this is simply my opinion I thought I'd just put that out there. I think a song similar to Keep The Faith should be on his new album. I think there should be one personal uplifting song, maybe something he wrote during the trial. As for his children being on the album, I personally don't want to hear them but I can understand why it may be important for them to make an appearance on it. And I would love for Michael to remake Jackie Wilson's *an idol of MJ's* 'To Be Loved'.

Success is the hardest question. I think the album, if there will be one, will do good. I'll have to see how things progress in the media when it comes to Michael's music alone.

Add thoughts, hate, whatever. btw JasonStar check your private messages over there, I would love to see yours. biggrin

Forget about a new ALBUM, he needs to first get that single out, it was announced almost five months ago! If he can't finish and push out one song, I don't see how he's gonna do an album.

i say if he does find his way back 2 music after everything he's been thru i'd welcome a new album. maybe he could find a way 2 bridge the guitar rock of dangerous with the hip-hop/r&b sense of the new songs on "history". that way he'll still make his money with the pop audience (mtv, the mall rats, the suburbs, the white folks) and still get play maybe in the clubs and on "106 & park"....all he's gotta not do is make this a "michael jackson and everybody in my rolodex" album"....

I think he needs a hard hitting funk/rock collaboration. He should do more with Jam & Lewis, and get Slash on a few more songs. No r'n'b at all. Modern pop r'n'b is bullshit. Some ridiculuously catchy guitar riffs and funky bass is what's needed. And of course some classic MJ songwriting.

A couple of years ago I might have said some Neptunes input, but not anymore. Their sound is too generic now.

As far as Quincy, I'd actually prefer MJ to do something with Quincy's son QDIII.

Been there, done that. It was called 'Thriller'.

He should do a proper 'Jacksons' album. Him and Jermaine sharing lead, like it used to be. I'm not bothered who produces as long as it's just a great producer. Not dozens of mediocre ones.

Even go so far as to sign with Motown again.

i dont know about signing with motown, but defiently making an album with his brothers would be great. destiny and triumph are two of the best albums in the whole jacksons family catalougue. far better then off the wall to me. i'd be so happy to hear that, a new jacksons album.
