Jacko's "jam" video rips off the intro to "cool as ice". No surprise though, it was the same director (who i think went on to do "space jam"?)

Donna Summer and Jeff Goldblum? confused
Ain't that a little misleading?

Yeah, and Donna on the cover is very misleading (hopefully they have some good Donna extras!). This was very much an ensemble film (kind of like "Crash", only not as prentenious). Judging by the cover, it doesn't look like it will be a disc packed with extras....It looks bare bones to me although I do give them props for using a picture of Donna that looks very vintage but that I don't think I've ever seen (doesn't resemble her look from the movie, really).

I can understand critiques of the movie. It's a silly romp and if you figure it's a comedy, it's not bad. It's pretty funny but very cheesy.

I only saw the movie once and all I remember was a guy in a van trying to get to the disco, Donna Summer and The Commodores performing, and a corny storyline that reminded me of a disco version of "The Love Boat". However, I still would like to have the movie to add to the rest of my music movies.
Andy is a four letter word.

I gotta admit, the movie is not quite a masterpiece. Some of the jokes fall flat, and there are alot of cheesy moments. But it's worth owning just for Donna's performance, although it's hard to tell if she's a good actress or not:

"Hold on,Mr.Big Shot DJ....I ain't no amateur! I paid my dues!"

hmmm lol

U and I have had conversations about this movie on here in the past. I ADORE this film, so much more than Saturday Night Fever. SNF was kind of a bummer where as TGIF is much more fun and uplifting. Hell yeah it's chessy, but it's a feel good movie.

I agree,it is a feel-good movie. It makes me long for the carefree disco days, when visiting nightclubs was a national pastime, lol.

in other Donna Summer news, her new maxi-single "I Got Your Love" has just been released.I bought it over the weekend.

Ralphi Rosario Extended Vocal (9:51)
Ralphi Rosario Dub (9:20)
L.E.X. Club (10:55)
L.E.X. Radio Edit (3:33)
Eddie Baez Vocal Anthem Mix (8:39)
Original Radio Edit (3:56)

The remixes are kinda predictable.I prefer the original radio edit. The song is doing extremely well on the dance charts,so hopefully this will lead to a new album from Donna.
