The Go Go's!

I know some of their hits from the 80's but can someone recommend a good cd to get? Where's a good place to start?

Their first album is good. I like it. I remember when "Our Lips Are Sealed" was released. Huge hit. I went and saw them at The Whiskey when I was in Jr. High. Of course it was and still is a no age limit club. They were good live.

Does that have "we got the beat" on it by any chance? that is probably my fave track of theirs. I bet they rocked in concert!

yes, its titled Beauty and The Beat. That and Vacation are the only ones worth owning, IMO.

I would go with Go-Go's Greatest . Has their 6 hits with 8 of the best album tracks from their 3 releases. Otherwise , Beauty and the Beast is a must have.

Go-Go's Greatest tracklist:

1. Our Lips Are Sealed
2. Cool Jerk
3. We Got The Beat
4. Head Over Heels
5. Get Up And Go
6. Vacation
7. Beatnik Beach
8. You Thought
9. I'm The Only One
10. This Town
11. Lust To Love
12. Mercenary
13. How Much More
14. Turn To You

Where is NWF? (edit I've just seen his post smile, I Like Jane Wiedlin's Blue Kiss) The Fun Boy 3 's Our Lips Are Sealed is better than The Go Go's version imo but I still like the girl's stuff ( better than the Bangles).

Get a greatest hits cd if there is one. They were a great group. That first album did it for me. I loved them ever since. I didnt care for Belinda Carlisle on her own though. I did like that one uptempo song she had ..something about an angel looking over me...

I think the 'Behind The Music' Best Of is a better comp. And the tracks are remastered too:

1. We Got the Beat
2. Our Lips Are Sealed
3. Lust to Love
4. Skidmarks on My Heart
5. This Town
6. Can't Stop the World
7. Fading Fast
8. Vacation
9. Beatnik Beach
10. Get up and Go
11. Speeding
12. Girl of 100 Lists
13. Head over Heels
14. Turn to You
15. Yes or No
16. I'm the Only One
17. Mercenary
