I think she's a good studio artist. Sometimes she's alright singing live but, other times it's so bad that I get embarrassed. Remember that save the music commerical she did when she's sayin' growing up, people told her she couldn't sing? And then in the commercial she's actually "trying to sing" and she sounds horrible. Somebody should've pulled her to the side a long time ago and said "Hey look, you are not Aretha or Chaka".

Nope. She can't dance. I forgot about that. That video she did with Puffy a few years ago where they're dancing in the street, that was kinda bad. I still like her though, I just think she needs to sing songs that are "safe" for her voice and to pay attention to her notes.

Not a fan. I liked "Real Love" and the remake she did with Method Man but that's about it. Everything else is more or less annoying to me. Her live singing is hit or miss. She does a lot of ad libbing and screeching. I saw her on that "Home for the Holidays" thing this past Christmas and she was simple awful -- off key and flat. Other times she's been ok.

There ya have it, folks! The masses have spoken - Mary J. can't sing and her fans have been duped.

i had no idea this thread would go off...maybe there is a lot of interest in Mary after all and that makes her music more significant whether it's good or not
